I have a question about when we choose another sim as our main sim. I did this with the new update yesterday. I didn't think about all the lava cards my main sim had before I changed the sim. My new main sim don't have those cards. Will the Main sim Cards be transferred to the new main sim or what? how does this work? I wanted to get all the Lava Cards and have played the first two games with my older main sim. Can someone help with this?

The old game is over and the new one hasn't begun yet, so there's no problem yet......if there's an issue why can't you just make sure the sim that completed the other two games is your primary avatar for now until the games are over? My understanding is that the only significance to the primary distinction is that that will become the one you keep if you should let your account lapse into free, but as long as you don't do that then I don't see a problem with keeping the primary avatar consistent until all the games are done. I'm pretty sure if you complete the rest of the games on another avatar that you'll get two separate lamps, one that has the red and orange, and the other that has whatever games you complete on the new primary avatar. Isn't this the case?

I believe the chosen primary sim is also the one that will receive any amnesty gifts that are due. We don't know yet if they will be tradeable, so we ought to make sure the sim we want to have them will be the one getting them. If you don't want the same sim to receive lava cards - then at least we know that lava cards are tradeable and can be given to whichever sim we please.

Ugh, I see what you are saying. I have more than one account so shifting the cards is not an issue....

However...If you only have the one account? That is a bit of a dilemma because now the cards will not be going to the sim that was originally receiving them.

I really think we need to lobby the devs for a 'shared' inventory so that our sims can share inventory items with each other. Or maybe a 'vault' on our tool bar so that we could place items in it to be retrieved by the other sims on that account.

Per the blog, it doesn't matter which of the sims has the cards.
The lamps, when they are issued, will all be given to the primary sim on the account.

The way I understand it the main sim gets the lava lamps anyway and then you get to distribute them to your sims. Same with Anniversary gifts etc.

So it wouldnt matter which sim did what. I also understood that when a sim finished a lava game it was recorded that he finished so He did not need the certificate..that makes trading the certificate useless.
I cant remember the link but seems to me that the main sim(avatar) got the credit for the first certificate of every color and then it just moved on down the line. like if you had 2 red then the second one would go to your second sim but the first would automatically go to the first sim.

Am I remembering right or is this just another of many tso dreams I've incountered over the years. Like when I dreamed I really worked in the robot factory...

Yes, but according to this post, if different sims complete different colors then different lamps will be issued based on the colors that the individual completed so that even if the same account completed all 7 colors, if different SIMS did it on the account then they'd get lava lamps with all the colors represented, but not on the same lamp. One could get a red and orange, and if another sim finished the game the primary avatar would receive a separate lamp with the yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.

Based on that, if it was me I would not change my primary avatar if I was in the running for completing all 7 games. Premium accounts will get more than 1 anniversary item in each city, so its not just the selected primary that can receive it since primary is a singular avatar, right?

On the SAA screen when you see your avatars, each one wil have 2 buttons, the button on the left when you press it gives your sims profile and beneath that are two buttons "Primary" and "Retire". Primary is in the exact spot that Move Sim used to be in.

By default it will be the oldest sim on the account, or if all sims are the same age, I believe yes it would go left to right.

Groovy Lava Game: Info about the final rewards!
Posted in Fun, Events by Sarah on the March 13th, 2008
You’ve been asking for information about how the lava lamps will be rewarded at the end of these mini-games.

Firstly, when you complete a game we record that fact in our database and gift you a certificate. You don’t need to keep these certificates and can even delete them if you wish (but it’s nice to see how many people display them proudly!). To be clear, if you complete a game twice, we record that you completed twice., etc.

Initially I wrote that it did not matter if you completed a game more than once but many of you have been begging to make it count so we will. This makes things more complicated but means people can earn more than one lamp. Please bear with me in the explanation that follows!

We will award people their lava lamps in a few weeks when this set of mini games is fully complete. Using any combination of your avatars, if you earn ALL colors you will earn a lava lamp that animates.

Every founder in EA-Land will get 1 lava lamp that glows white but has no colored lava in it… !

Then, additionally, we will award a number of colorful lava lamps to the primary avatar on your account depending on what games you played and how many times. Right now the primary avatar is your oldest avatar on EA-Land but Mark is working on a way to let you pick which avatar you would like to mark as the primary one.

If you complete no games, you will only get the basic white lamp.

If you completed just the red game you would get a lamp with the red color but not the other rainbow colors.

If you complete multiple games multiple times, here is how we will award the lamps, using an example.

Example:

Imagine we have account called, BrothersGrimm which has 8 avatars named SnowWhite, Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy. Snow White is the oldest character.

Imagine that when all the games have ended, this is what is recorded for the avatars on that account:

SnowWhite earned 1 red certificate.
Sleepy and Sneezy earned 1 orange certificate each.
Happy earned 3 green certificates.
Doc earned 3 yellow certificates.
The total earned by the account is 1 red, 2 oranges, 3 greens and 3 yellows - it does not matter which avatars earned them. Then we will simply make lamps until we’ve used up those colors. The BrothersGrimm account will be awarded

One Lava Lamp that glows red, orange, green and yellow
One Lava Lamp that glows orange, green and yellow.
One Lava Lamp that glows green and yellow.
Those lamps plus the standard white one for all founders will be placed into SnowWhite’s inventory, as she is the primary avatar.
If and only if you earn ALL colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet) then your lava lamp with animate!
Now it really will be interesting to see how you play these games…

The current game is to earn the orange color. Good luck and enjoy!

I want to know what happens to my game objects when I delete and recreate a sim.

I transfered them to another but not sure they will take as the devs stated the lava lamps are associated with the sim.

So time should tell how that al plays out.

In any case I won't cry over losing one.

Lava cards are tied to account not sim. You don't even have to keep your lava cards. The data of delivery of cards and completion of each phase has been recorded. I understand the completion of each phase of game is recorded per account not sim.

YES all lamps will be given to primary, however the lamps will be split up in color according to which sim completed the game, so that if

1 sim completed red and orange
#2 completed yellow and blue
#3 completed gren indigo and violet

the primary avatar would not receive a singular 7 colored lamp, she'd receive 3 lamps with the corresponding colors in each lamp. The same sim must complete all 7 games in order to receive a fully animated lamp. That was my point.

OK, I sit corrected. The example on the blog was referring to if more than one of the same color was completed, and that is why it was split up into 3 different lamps. So yes, if you complete all 7 games at least once then you should receive an animated lamp, plus another lamp if you complete any of the games more than once.

I did not get to participate in red thanks to a glitch, and I have not received an orange completion certificate yet even though I was done with the game way before the 3/24 deadline.....so I think I'm in trouble

In the example, only Snow White earned a red certificate (and only a red certificate), but the only lamp with red ALSO had orange, green and yellow. According to *your* scenario, there should have been one lamp with only red in it.

This means that if all seven colors are earned (by any combination of Sims on the account), 1 rainbow lamp will be given to the primary Sim. If any of the colors are earned more than once, then another lamp will be given (also to the primary Sim) in that color (or combination of colors).

It's the account - not the Sim.

Ok here is what I did. I have 2 accounts so I just traded them from my old main sim to my main on the second account. Then I logged off with my old main and logged in with my new main and did a trade with the main on my second account so all is fixed. Thanks for all the responses.
