Seems theres still an INSURANCE BUG

So I was training swordsmanship and with my recently bought smuggler's edge I thought I'd get some lanterns. I had only cursed shadow dancer leggings but that was ok, I was only in tram.

Then I realise I have to be in fel or in a champ. I spent most of yesterday getting 7 lanterns and then thought maybe a fel dungeon would be better. Ah ha, but with cursed leggings, someone will probably loot me.

So I fork out a few mil for some real shadow dancer leggings and got ready to go to fel dungeons. Before I do, however, I go through the item insurance menu and check that everything is insured. One or two bits weren't, so I insured them and went off.

After a while I thought, hmm, a nice quiet champ in a fel dungeon might work pretty well. Figured that deceit would be quiet so I headed there. Within moments of activating the spawn a bunch of wraiths had buried me and I ran the long way back to the entrance to try and find a wandering healer.

Funny thing is though, is that when I was resed, I only had a couple of things on me.

Heres what I had on me after I got a res:

- Armor of Fortune (thank lord)
- Ring
- Bracelet
- Snake skin boots
- 2 smugglers lanterns
- Conjurer's trinket

And what I DIDN'T have in my pack after I resed

- Shadow dancer leggings
Bought off a vendor, insured myself

- Gloves of the pugilist
Previously had not been insured, and when I insured it, the gold was taken from bank. Last insured by another char on another account.

- Polar bear mask
Previously had not been insured, and when I insured it, the gold was taken from bank. Never insured by any other char before

- Exceptional Barbed Leather Gorget
Previously had not been insured, and when I insured it, the gold was taken from bank. Insured by other chars before, not this one.

- Ringmail sleeves
Insured and returned to this char on previous deaths. Hadn't been enhanced or crafted, just regular looted arms

Won't go into how much I was fuming/frustrated or how I tried to get my stuff back before my bones decayed, although I did manage to open the corpse before it did. I grabbed the shadow dancer leggings which *weren't insured*.

Never ever had this happen to me before, but it really annoys me having spent 2 mil on those leggings when I could have bought all the lanterns I'd acquired yesterday for the same price. I thought this bug had been FIXED.

So has this happened to anyone else lately? And why is this still around, 7 years after insurance was introduced!

This happens to me about once a year, Every time luckily I've noticed (Only PvM so I have still been able to get the items back when I get my corpse)

So yes, Still a bug, Even after the insurance revamps a few publishes back.

EDIT: Just infact remembered a situation where I did loose a piece, I had almost forgot about it because it didn't bother me that much.

I was on my second tamer who just has a cheap LRC suit, All insured, I died and saw the ogre lord take an item. I assumed it was gold, Rezzed up got my corpse and my leather arms were missing! I killed the ogre and they were no where to be seen.

I don't play prodo a whole lot, but I do none the less. I've never had anything like this happen to me. Not even during the last bug phase. I know you don't like to hear it, but more than likely this was user error... I know I've insured something, didn't toggle re-insure upon death and went out sparring with friends. You die a few times, they die a few times. You don't realize that after your deaths your crap becomes uninsured then go out to do a fight for real... Only to find out that you're stupid and forgot to re-check your equipment.

There is a bug - probably several. I've seen BLESSED Leggings of Embers fall on my corpse before. There's no way I could have messed that up.

Made a point of insuring everything I had on me, because until then I had been dying without having anything insured at all.

And half my stuff was on my still on me.

And my bank box has a mil or so.

We would have a bug then where monsters would not drop any loot as it was blessed

something tells me that it would still randomly happen even with the insurance variable removed lol. doh!

do you need loose gold in your main bank box or is insurance taken from checks as well ? either way insurance bug hit me few nights ago, uo crashed and when i rezzed, my week old insured imbued kama that i was holding during crash, was lost on the body for some reason. thank goodness it's easily replaced.

yea the insurance bug has been around as long as i can remember. i think the last insured item i lost was a butchers war cleaver(about a month ago). the real pain is if you don't notice u lost an item, lose it an area with alot of mobs, or are in fel. hard to get back then.

i've lost count of the number of items i've looted off mobs, with the insured/blessed tag still on them. particularly at boss and champ spawns

It really has, hasn't it? Besides, the benefit of doing this, say, just for Trammel rulesets is that newer players no longer quit in frustration the moment they realize they just lost everything they'd been trying to acquire for the last few hours.

Yeah, because, you know, having items lost just for the sake of losing them is "fun" for everyone, right?

I mean, really, they don't even need to drop in Felucca truthfully. If the PvP is "truly" about challenge, then items are secondary. They could come up with more inventive ways to keep people from insta-ressing back into PvP without item loss.

Honestly, they'd be smart if they did remove the whole having items drop. It would remove all of the bugs associated with it, and make it for a much more stable game environment overall.
