Searching Forum For Phrases?

I am having difficulties trying to search for phrases in the forums. For example, if I am viewing this forum, I am trying to search for posts containing the phrase "greater dragon" without the quotes. Nothing I try will get me any posts containg that exact phrase, although I will get posts containing either or both words. I've tried everything typical for search engines, including surrounding the phrase in quotes. This is the case for ANY phrases I try to search. Is there a FAQ or guide that can help me? I want to avoid asking questions that have already been answered in the forums.

I did email this question to stratic's support, but it has been two weeks, and no response.

The problem is not Stratics--it is vBulletin. Their search capability is just not good. This is true for all forums who use vBulletin. Personally, I use Google to search Stratics. To search forums, type the following in the Google search bar:

site:vboards.stratics.com "greater dragon"

To search the UOStratics website, type the following in the Google search bar:

site:uo.stratics.com "greater dragon"

That is indeed helpful information, especially since I can narrow the search to a specific forum like this:

site:vboards.stratics.com/uo-tamer "greater dragon"

Even better was my discovery that you can also search the forums with Yahoo, etc. What joy!

It's sad that it is not added to Stratic's FAQ.

This works so well that I added this thread to my favorites list in the UO folder.

I forget stuff if I don't leave myself a trail to follow.
I'm a 13 year vet and I learn and often forget something new everyday.

But my Doctor figured out what's wrong with me.

It's nice to be helpful for a change, lol. This method will work for any website. I use it all the time.
