Scroll of Alacrity Reminder

Not sure everyone knows this but scroll of alacrity timers 'pause' when you log out. This was changed a few pubs ago.

Why is this significant?

For hard skills like taming - you can log in, eat scroll, get GGS gain by taming something (I use bulls in Delucia) and then go home and log out. If you do this every 30 hours or so when your GGS kicks back in you will get a .2 to .5 gain every time. Over the past week I am still using the same Alacrity scroll and have gained over 2 points in taming up to 110.8 and still rolling.

They have always been this way. I've worked quite a few tamers over the past few years doing this.

To save even more time if possible try and get the animal you want to tame to your house that way you log in, tame, release, log. Don't waste time recalling around.

How do you know when to log back in? That is, how long before the GGS kicks back in? I pretty much wasted a Chiv scroll because I tried logging in every day for gains.

The GGS timer is based on your overall skill level and the skill level of what you are trying to raise. I think the max is like 30 hours. Even if I miss it - I can log in - test - log out in about 1 min.

Of course, for GGS to kick in you have to be doing something that has a 'chance' of gaining. For Chiv noble sacrifice. Cast successfully, log out.

Note that at 350 skill points from 115 to 120 its 10 hours. For 700 skill points its 51 hours. Thus, stone off your other skills, build this up then put them back on.

Another hint if it's possible for those that have empty soul stones and working taming like this. Stone as many skills as you can. GGS timer is based on overall skill points used. The less you have used, the more often you can get a ggs.

I've done this for a long time now. I try to get my gains about 2 to 3 times a week. It's pretty nice for hard to gain skills.

Well I didn't know any of this at all! I have never believe that those scrolls did much at all but I just used them for 15 minutes straight. I used a mysticism one recently and didn't get one gain over the 15 minutes.

Been doing that with my bard since they introduced the change.
Made to 120 peace, 120 disco and now I am working to 120 provo one alacrity affected GGS per time. I log her once every two days and tada, guaranteed .2 to .5 gain.

Worked pretty great when I was training imbuing on my second crafter as well. Collected bags and bags of loot to unravel with my fighters, logged the imbuer, unravelled the loot, logged out and went back to step one. Made it from 0 to GM in a few hours with one alacrity scroll.

I really love this change.
