30% is the maximum. That is close. It is not a 'rare' as in the sense of this forum, but one does not see it very often!

I believe the only reason for the exceptional mod would be making spellbooks, as nothing else of note can be made exceptional with the inscription skill. (Runebooks, sure, but nobody cares.) :)

However, as far as I know, there is no benefit to an exceptionally-marked spellbook.

The only benefit that is rumored to exist would be a hidden one, that folks wearing a 30/30 talisman craft better spellbooks (a larger percentage of them have 3 mods). This is akin to crafters swearing that high luck suits improve their odds -- unproven, and in fact, argued against by people who can read the server code. Is that the case with this talisman rumor? I have no idea.

Does the extra % affect the mods your gona get on a scrappers or just more chance of making an exceptional thus more chance at better mods, or are mods on crafting completly random.

thanks in advance

Other than the above rumor, I have not noticed any benefit to making an exceptional spellbook, other than having my name on it. The only way that most of us accept as the method of improving the odds of 3-mod books is to raise magery to 110 or better, 120. This is what the developers have designed. Of course, in the code, there may be other considerations that we are unaware of. But, unless an official statement is made, any rumors are unproven..... so anyone can say anything. :)

missed my point completly bud... exceptional "scrappers" (same as any skills exceptional crafted" scrappers or any item, not spell books.....) have better mods than a normal, was asking if the % bonus goes on more chance AT an exceptional or more chance at better mods?

I did answer the question, I apologize if the answer is hard to understand.

Lets try this: Scrappers cannot be exceptionally crafted, and there is no difference between exceptional and regular spellbooks.
