Can anyone confirm if the tinker tool quest "Necessity's Mother" actually gives any of the rare recipes such as the one for Scrapper's? I seem to recall somewhere that it didn't, but according to UOGuide it does. I'd just like to know for certain before I spend hours making tinkers' tools...

Scrappers is an inscription recipe....
But I don't know what quests give what, if you got the info from uo guide its probably accurate but I couldn't tell ya.

I know that. It also happens to drop from the Tinker's quests as there are no Inscription quests. I just want to verify that it can drop from the tinker tools quest and not only from one of the higher level quests.

I got mine from the barrel tap quest. Its given by the wine makers just above the tinkers shop in Heartwood.

I'm wanting to do the tinker tools quest because it only requires 20 ingots total per quest as opposed to 4-5 times that for any of the other quests. I'm farming for recipes and talismans for turn ins, but would also like to get some of the rare recipes if I can to put on my vendor to sell.

I always try to accomplish at least 2 things anytime I do anything in game. Makes doing things seem not quite as tedious.

Having just received a Resilient Bracer recipe, I can confirm that at least that one is available through the tinker tool quest.

I'm sorry, I didn't read you question correctly. From the tinker quests you can get Resillent Bracer, Pendi of magi, and Essence of battle as the rare recipies. You also get the 3 or 4 alchemy, and hovering wisp recipies on a fairly regular basis. I do remember reading somthing about doing the foot stool quests from the tinkers to get the scrappers recipie. I think you are getting the most bang for your ingot doing what you are doing.

I've gotten the 3 Scrappers recipes I've gotten from "Reptilian Dentist"

I do know that the Tinker quests such as the barrel tap and wind chime also give a chance at a Scrapper's, having gotten one from each of those quests. I just didn't know if the tinker tool quest was included in that list, since it's more of a low level quest than the others. I'm thinking now that since it does in fact give 1 of the other 3 rare recipes, that it probably does give a Scrapper's as well.

I can now confirm 100% that you can indeed get a Scrapper's recipe from the Tinker Tool quest as I just got one. :lick:

Wow, I did quests for 6+ hours and the best I got was a Sticher's recipe. How much time did it take you to get the Scrapper's from the tinker?

I've been here a total of about 2-1/2 hours and got the Resilient Bracer and Scrapper's both within the past 30 minutes or so, with the Scrapper's just dropping in the past few minutes.

How does it work when you refuse one (ie -> Coil's Fang) to get a "regular" one, such as the tinker tool's turn-in or the lap harp? I seem to have to get out, recall to bank, wait some amount of time, recall back to Heartwood, and the quest has changed... is there any definitive "this is how you do it" for this situation?

You can just keep clicking on the quest giver over and over and the quest will change each time. Sometimes you'll run into streaks where the same quest will come up again and again, so you just have to keep clicking and closing the quests until the one you want comes up.

I got mine from the tinker tool quest. It does seem odd tht you make tinker tools to get a recipe for inscription.

I too got the Scrappers from a Tinkers Tool quest. it seemed to run in streaks with alchemy recipies for 5-10 times then would switch to tink recipies.

Now if I can just get that damn Luminious Rune Blade recipie I'd be a happy camper!

Yup, I also got mine from the tinker tool quest. I think I got mine after about 2 hours...

You can drag out the healthbar from the NPC and keep double-clicking that. You get a quest you don´t want? Double-click it. You get another one that you don´t want. Double-click it again. Until you get the quest you want. :)

Just drag it to the side of your screen and keep it up as long as you keep doing the quests...
