The pages are fairly easy to use, no harder really, once you get familiar with a few details, than posting with UBB code on this site.

Unless EA installs Sim Police, Sim FBI, or should I say "EA Police and EA FBI", etc., I dont see how they will ever sucessfully stop scammers and botters. There will always be someone sitting there figuring out a new and better way to get rich quick.

I'm stumped on dealing with scammers. How do you protect players from themselves? No matter what system is put in place, scammers will work around it and find players willing to take a chance and they are easy to find too.
Many times players place themselves in a position to get scammed. They are the players that desperately want something of yours that's rare such as your tiger or your trees. And from the time they land till they leave, they will beg you to sell/give them your rare. One guy even offered to go on the internet and BUY my tree for real money even though I kept saying N O Spells NO!!! Scammers probably just watch for these people.I think they would easy pickings for scammers.
Other then scammers/botters, there is another issue that probably is in the same category. I'm not sure what we call them but they are the 'harrassers'. Those are the players that create nasty names that get past the filter and then they go from house to house cursing and just harrasing everyone.
It takes about 3 days to get any response back from EA when you report a player and even then, you don't really know if they've dealt with the situation or any explanation from them if they didn't.
So they want our help if anyone has any ideas.

Exploiters will be seen. They have a system in place (or will in ealand) With alarms that will go off if there is a huge increase in simolean production. The way I understood it.
IMO: The scammers would be slowed down if you could ban someones whole acct and ignore all their sims. At least then people on your lot would not be harrased.

Hmm....I like where you are going with that actually and would work for 'stalkers' too.
We have an 'ignore' button. What if there was an 'ignore' button for the account and not just the sim. That way if they recreated, they still could not contact you or land on your properties?
Let's go a step farther shall we, what if that account stays permanently in your ban record so that when their recreate comes on, you could see it?

I heard of a scammer in TC3 this week that was going around using the house for sale trick, taking the money and then booting them. Whats sad is that EA have now given us the tools (house deeds) to avoid this type of scam but it seems that not everyone is aware of them and what purpose they serve.
There will always be those that attempt to scam and cheat others, EA can do many things to help stop them, but players also need to understand what they can do to prevent being scammed themselves.

That's the way I hear it works too. My worry is, if the amount they are scamming or botting is on a slightly lower scale it might not ring the bells and whistles. And we all know the exploiters are going to work at finding a way around the safe guards if they can. I hope they all get caught but there are too many that thrive on a challenge.

Yes I also heard about this particular person. That same person has on their bio that they are not new to the game yet came into houses begging for money when that didnt work less than an hour later pulled the House for sale scam and got away with a tidy sum. Unfortunately, they prey on Newbies that dont know how the secure house trading works or how to be safer doing trades etc.

Very true Bindy, if I remember rightly you were on the same property when this was discussed.
Unfortunately on this occasion the scammer got away with 100k - thats quite a sum for a new player to have earned in TC3, so I suspect that whoever got scammed wasn't quite so new to the game.

Nothing much EA can do about that, other than warning people in a general way, to not give out passwords, and to be wary of deals that are too good to be true.

I've yet to see any plans that really appease to the scammers. They're players, too. I'd like to see some plans in effect that can bring the scammers back to TSO.

lets face it in EA Land there will be a way to tell if someone is acquiring simoleans or whatever it will be called in the new game.. if for whatever reason a person exceeds the amount allowed per day if a person can't prove to the satisfaction of EA representatives, then whater "simoleans " has been acquired IMO should immediately be taken away from the person... then place a warning code in both persons involved. three warning codes in one week cause the computer to automatically freeze the account for a period of a week.... this weeek freeze is forever noted on a persons account (real life) and if it happens again then the account is closed..
If this sounds harsh then so be it.... place harsh measures in place and people will be a lot less likely to try and get something for nonthing. forget people trying to acues one another let the computer do the work.. when users see a mass amount of people's account for attempting to cheat the game as it is or will be originally intentioned to be played then it will certainly place a deterant to anyone else trying to do it...

I reported a guy with a totally filthy name. EA got back to me and said they couldn't find anything wrong with the chat. I sent them another email telling them the guy's name was the problem and not the chat. Never heard another word. I have the guy bookmarked and he still has the same name.

I've gotten to sending screenies with my reports which means I have to log out of the game and into my EA account to make a report.
Get this...I had a friend that reported that 'ownzzz' sign in BF It was/is full of fowl nasty house and sim bios. One of them actually offering child porn on their bio (Sorry but THAT should have been gone quickly), a few offering yahoo prostitution services....EA couldn't find them either....even as big as the sign was.

People need to smarten up or pay for being stupid/greedy.
