Various points in Sanctuary has intense laggy areas, most notably in the second level rat-man areas. When you walk in a certain direction, the program stops reacting for a good 5-10 seconds.
While I can't be sure, I think the laggy areas (which can be narrowed down to single tiles) have something to do with the traps down there. I'll do more exploring with a character that can survive down there without interaction later.
The first lag-pit is exactly on this tile:
And it only lags when you're moving from west-to-east (toward the intersection and the first spike traps)
