Are these much harder than say Medusa or Navrey to solo?

Dark Fathers are pretty easy for a Sammy. It is more like Medusa, than Navrey. You can beat him open field really easy, with a double axe and whirwinds. The only thing you need to watch is your buff bar, as SOON as you are blood oathed, STEP AWAY and hit the spawn.

There are a lot more tactics available.

We have tamers solo them in our alliance in addition to a few archers sol him as well. You just have to expect to be there for awhile

go with 120 resist and just Lightning strike and then whirlwind when he throws bones.
Don't cut the bones, the spawn will keep you healed at max HP.

Use trinket and demon slayer weap.

There are 3 spots you can stand where only he can hit you. Plus if you leave it spawned it will run out of places to throw bones, the only thing I'd kill off is Lich Lords as if they're flagged on anything they'll Wither repeatedly.

For Blood Oaths, either carry apples or hit Evade then Remove Curse, or both.

You can use those corners on any template, including Tamers, just use auto stable to put the Greater Dragon in the corner and tell it to stay, then lure the DF on it. Then you can just stand back and heal it, takes 30 minutes, or 20 minutes with Discord. You need roughly 110 Magery, 100 Med, 40 LMC, 8 MR and 2/6 to outheal.

Dude - how does evade work vs blood oath?

I've not really heard of this in a long time...

You don't Evade the actual Blood Oath landing, but you can Evade the damage backlash, plus, while you're Evading you've less chance of being fizzled with Remove Curse, plus you're not swinging to hit and get the backlash while casting it.
