Sampire ? VE only good for HLL20?

I have recently started my first sampire char and i am wondering if the only real benefit of going vamp form is 20 LL and nox resist?

basicly is:

bush/chiv/parry template - VE +20 HLL on wep = sampire - nox resist

Life leech on a wep is not the same as life leech from vamp form. The 20 LL from vamp form isn't something you take lightly. It makes for a very powerful combination when your char is set up right.

I don't remember the actual formula, but I believe it gives a percent chance of leeching a percent of the damage done, while vamp form gives a straight leech of 20% of the damage done. It comes out to be much higher than the LL on a wep.

Is the LL granted by curse wep the HLL type or the VE type?

The curse weapon is the same as the Vamp. I believe it is actually called "life drain" somewhere on the site.

Instead of having a chance of getting life leeched back from a mob (weapon LL) you get a guarantee of 20% (70% with VE and Curse) back from each swing. Which once you start hitting things for 150+ you will find that staying alive is not terribly challenging in most instances.

GL with your build.

I am modifying one of my characters to be a sampire. I looted an ornate axe with 63% LL and ML last night. Based on what has been stated in this thread about the weapon LL not being all that helpful, should I look for a different weapon with HCI, DI, and/or SSI, or should I plan to use this axe until something better comes up?

I think the weapon most sampires look for has HML, HSL and SSI.

Stamina determines your swing speed and everytime you get hit, your stamina drops, so your swing speed drops too.

The slower you hit, the slower you leech, so your not healing as fast. The HSL keeps your stamina, and therefore your swing speed, up, so you can leech/heal faster.

Thanks Odin. I was thinking I would use divine fury to keep stamina up, but that may get mana intensive and hurt DCI too much. I will look for something with HSL and perhaps leave most of the HLL to the vamp form.

If you have 65 DCI you can spam Divine Fury with no negatives, assuming you can keep up your mana (which you should with an ornate axe and 50+ mana leech)

Vamp LL is 20% and it is a leech that will leech 20% of your damage with every swing.

Hit life leech on weapon has a % chance of to leech life so you do not leech life with every swing.

Cursed Weapon leech 50% of your damage with every swing during the duration of the spell. The duration of the spell depends on your SS. It lowers Karma so it not as ideal.

If you have honor on a monster and you reached perfection, you will leech enough life with Vamp's LL to keep you alive.
