Sampire suit. Studded or Plate armour?

Hello everybody i'm building my first suit after pub 81. and I was wondering if you guys think if it's better to make it plate or studded for humans.
With plate the benefit would be full stamina regeneration bonus, on the other side the studded would give you a bonus of 15 lmc.
My question is do you think it's better plate or studded??
Maybe 3 pieces of plate and 2 of studded to get both stamina regeneration and lmc bonus?

I switched to plate for my sampire. Stamina loss = lower swing speed = no likey for sampire

Well atm I'm honestly not really noticing a difference in stamina loss wearing the same old woodland armor which is equivalent in stamina loss protection to studded leather. I'm definately just going to increase my offense with the added +15% LMC from studded & simply maintain the same level of stam loss protection that the woodland is currently giving me. Added LMC = More AI's which increases my vamp. life drain & thus keeps me alive better.....

Yep same here. I've been rollin' in my woodland suit and haven't noticed much issue with stamina loss. I'm tempted to try studded suit for the 15% LMC myself.

I fight a lot of different high level things and on my woodland suit things were going fine honestly but I figured what the heck lets try the plate. The stamina protection on 5 pieces of metal armor vs my woodland suit is definitely noticeable to me. I like using it for the much harder stuff and I get 45 LMC so its a little bonus too. I also made a studded suit and WOH that extra 15 LMC is awesome. I've definitely enjoyed having the extra for as much as I AI. I will likely resign my woodland suit toa spare character and switch out between the studded and plate suits on my main sampires. I'll run the plate as multi-purpose and more difficult boss suit. The studded I'll run on things with smaller mana pools or things that don't do as much damage.

I'm running a test studded suit with 50 LMC. It is awesome even without reforging. I plan to collect the necessary imbuing ingredients to max the suit and build a 5 piece studded suit with M&S Glasses. I also plan to refine away my elves' 75 energy resist for 70 and 50 DCI. I just need to collect 5 refinement items of defense for studded leather.

I was also thinking of using M&S Glasses, 10 HCI woodland gorget, with plate legs, and 3 pieces of studded leather and go 50 LMC. I would refine this as well to reduce my energy cap and get 50 DCI.

I guess I have some reading to do, I didn't realise that the LMC bonus stacked! 50 LMC is awesome.

I have an exceptionally good woodland suit that I toiled with for a few weeks to build but based on this I would be interested to see your finished suit then seewhat I can come up with. The main hang up for me is that with woodland it gives me the benefit of DI and HCI as a freebie on my suit. it tok several attempts to get he bonus I wanted but all in all I don't feel my suit could improve much. with regards to the stamina loss... I don'y use SSI on my weps as I have 190+ stamina and 20 SSI on my suit (Tinker legs and ring/brace) I have noticed that I lose a little more stamina but the leechon my wepon is more than capable of keeping me at full, especially when combined with the parry bonus with confidence. The only change I have made to my suit was to take DCI to 60 and added hit lower attack onto some choise weps. Its an awesome development for sampires. 60 DCI wih 120 parry/bushido - hit lower attack. most things cant hit me often enough now for stamina loss to be an issue. I took the hit on energy, poison and cold damage.

Just giveing suggestions for ou guys to think about also.

Not sure if i got then -25 dci from the theoretical cap from 70 and still can have 45 ore only have 20 dci cap then.

i use a combination of plate and ringmail. SR is awesome and even if I don´t have that much lmc I can constantly spam AI. So I see no point in using leather or studded leather armor

I love my plate suits, if nothing else because I feel in a way they are mine. If that makes sense. Yeah, that's a bit self serving, egotistical...whatever, but, I am ok with that. So, I don't see myself changing the ones I have.

That being said... I just might have to make another sampire to rock a studded suit.

Or maybe go old school and make a dexer sampire suit. (chain/ring/plate- I think, I'll have to look it back up, it's been a few years)

I'm going to craft a suit for my dexer (human without necro). So what is final thoughts - studed or plate?

I haven't had a chance to test it- But, I think I would go to the side of higher LMC- not sure how much the stamina loss would hurt you and there are other ways to compensate for that.

I've been running a test Studded Suit with 50 LMC on my sampire on Origin. The suit isn't close to maxxed out and I still like it a lot. I actually notice a stamina defense improvement from my leather and woodland suits of old.

The question, as I see it, is whether going with platemail makes you so stamina proof that you can drop HSL on your weapon and instead use stamina pots and divine fury. If that is the case, then plate may be beneficial as you can save a mod on your weapon for something else.

I noticed an ommense boost in staminaloss protection wearing metal armor. Though im not sure if df and pots is enough to maintain your speed espesially with hard hitting mobs. May give it a try

There's a problem with plate suit. (5+5)*5 + 25 = 75... even without exceptional points. Well, with 1 ringmail and 2 chainmail items it will be 71.

I've just checked a plate suit. Resistances were about 70-50-50-50-50. My char has 60 sword/anatomy/bushido/parry/chivalry, 50 tactics/healing.
My char has 117 stamina and a Daisho without HSL. He tried Lowland Bouras and Toxic Sliths. Stamina didn't drop down under 116. Even when she was deadly poisoned.

If you're enhancing with valorite you are going to lose points. As you pointed out, 25 phys from m&s, 25 from valorite enhance x 5, and 25 from base pieces puts you at 75. Instead of getting +17 resists you are actually getting +16 (assuming all 5 plate pieces were 5 phys) in this case, unless you apply refinements to boost your physical cap. Alternately, you could mix in the other ore types in your enhances to get what you need.

Crafting metal armor i prefer using agapite or verite. Valorite got a bad distribution of res points

make from iron and then enhance. It's the only way I do it.

How to craft a 65 res (10 phys res) plate items with just one imbue... it's near to impossible with any ingots.

Duncan Drake

Well its difficult but not impossible. You just have to craft an item with 1 base resist and:
For agapite enhancement : 8 phys resist
For verite enhancement : 6 or 7 phys resist
For valorite enhancement: 5, 6 or 7 phys resist

Other option, with verite or valorite you get an item with exactly 6 or 5 phys resist and raise the other resist you want to imbuefor 1 or 2 points.

In any cases you have 65 resist total in the end

So if we speak in terms of exceptional points I need to get:
3-0-x-y-z for agapite enhancement
2-0- or 1-1-x-y-z for verite enhancement
2-0- or 1-1- or 0-2-x-y-z for valorite enhancement

After crafting 5 items that complenent each other I reforge one of then, get unwanted mod... and now I need to craft an item with exactly the same x-y-z resistances ... which means I need craft another 10k items to get one with such res.

Whether one understands one's self as roleplaying or not, more of us do it than we realize.

Each character is different. What works for one may not work for another.

I know a very good player who turned her dexxer into a Sampire and it just didn't work. It wasn't the character.

So I suggest to you: Let the character tell you what it wants.

erm... tell me what do you want to craft. its one thing to craft an armor part that got the points distribution you want... BUT its another thing to craft a whole set of armor that complements each other

This information is very informative. I was wondering if there is a way to get HCI on leather or plate like you get on wood pieces?

Thanks, Katrena

Of course I want craft a full suit: M&Sh + 5 items.
I think I should craft:
ringmale gloves
chainmale chest and legs
studded arms
platemale gorget

I think stam loss reduction from 4 items will be enough.

Hmm yes its a bit ticky to build a suit that fits. It also depends on if you want to reforge sprcial things like dci or hci on armor psrts. If so you should begin with these parts and then go for the next
