So what is the best method of getting the saltpeter used in the construction of cannon resources?

I went to the vendor on the floating docks last night and it was priced at 257 gold eac.. WTH? I will be broke before I even get onto the water to take down a pirate ship..

I see that you can mine it now also... how easy is it to come by and where do you mine for it at?

Any help is appreciated..

Mine for it in dungeons and while on a ship (i.e. mine along the rocky cliffs).

I tend to use my 10th anniversary statue for an hour of luck, and with that my miner has 1376 luck -- and usually gets between 800 and 1200 per hour, occasionally getting over 1500.

Mining in the Abyss on a fire beetle with a high luck armor works best.

Is 257 gold pieces for saltpeter alot? Just curious. How many are needed on average per month for a regular high seas player?

Well it takes 24 saltpeter to make one Heavy Powder charge... so at that rate its like 6600 gold per cannon fire multiply that out by about 50 - 100 shots and you are broke

The developers thought 8 gold was the right proce for salpter, as the vendors sold it before they decided to change it. I think 200 gold is ok for the effort it takes to get it. Especially after I bought 60k for 8 gold each

Yea 8 gold would of being way under priced compare to the amount of gold in circulation per player.

When mining for the nitre deposit.. do you all notice that it pops on the first "dig' or do you mine a spot until its empty of ore and also se the nitre deposit pop up during that vein??
