This really upset me to hear about - especially because I was going to try and get to the UO meet at Waterloo earlier this year was it? Did it ever happen?
Its made me think we should really get as many people to a proper UO meet as possible.. maybe back at the Auderly downstairs, like UO meets used to be!

Given the very sad news of the passing of Sally Buttons, I think it would be somewhat fitting if we all got together for another big UO meet. I have been thinking on and off about it for ages now, where would be best, who would come.. and time/other commitments seem to me a problem for many people (myself included).
So lets discuss and agree on a good date during one weekend for everyone and have one big meetup again. Personally I would suggest The Auderly again, as it was a venue that was used quite a few times for meets.. and although it may not be the most accessible place for people further north, decent-sized UO meets never manage to happen nowadays. But feel free to suggest other venues or places or times and we can get a public page setup to invite people to!

I am in deep shock - this really has upset me. I cant get on to the Facebook page/site. Can someone who has access there PM me how to get in?
This is a deep loss to me. Sally's player was a very good friend of mine. I didn't know she was ill. I am very shocked.
She was a truly lovely person who I met in real life a few times. She was one of the best.

I'm so sad and shocked to hear this - I can't think of a single bad thing about her, and I echo everything you've all aready said - she was one of those lovely people who make UO a place where we feel good, and we know we're among decent people and kind friends.
This is very Sad, Sally was the best kind of person there was and a true gem to the Europa shard and RP community. She will be missed greatly

Yesterday I found a Castle in Felucca on Ice Island that has a memorial to Sally on it's sign... the co-ordinates are in the screenshot below, though green on ivory reads terribly so they are 120 degrees 14 minutes N 172 degrees 21 minutes W or 256.3992 in X/Y format.
Her house south of Trinsic is collapsing.
As her neighbour, I plan to erect a memorial, either on the site of her house or in my front yard. I hope I can recover an item she crafted when the house falls so I can put it on dispay and will make sure that the vultures that come to plunder will know who she was.
Sad to have it end this way, but it's the fond memories we have left that matter most.

I did see her house was collapsing and out of respect I did not and will not mark a rune to that idoc. There wil be no "Pillage" or "plunder" of her house by me

I was there but there was hardly anyone and those that came all knew who the owner was. I came to get a named item for a little memorial (can be found in the basement of the house directly to the east), but only got a chest full of cooking items. Someone else was kind to give me a hat with the name tag on it which I put on the table along with the little sculpture.

I still have a beautiful hat made for me by Sally Buttons. Sad to hear her house has fallen but this is the way of all things. SPA - good find on that house on Ice Island - I thought it might be one of Garod or Alynora's houses. But think their locations are west of that spot. Just so sad about all this. Sleep well. Oh and great to hear of the respectful nature of the IDOCers
