SA patcher finds corrupted server file ...

Mods - might want to lock this - I just found the answer: somewhere between 8 and infinity. Ninth try finally got past the issue.

However, others might have same problem. <shrug>

soooooo, how do we get past this one? I just started up SA, patcher kicks in to retrieve patch manifest and I get:

"The patch client encountered corruption in the file [notes/unpacked/f24e6e20889feafb] on the remote server. Please try the patch operation again."

I bolded certain words to head off the "clear your patch folder" suggestions - I already checked things anyway - after the 5th try. Just making sure it is noted to be server side.

Sooo, question stands: how many times do I need to do this before I can play the desired client? Anyone?

I had this problem last night. I fixed it by deleting the "English" folder within the Notes folder.

When we encounter that problem there is realy one option and thats to try again a little later. Eventualy it will work.
