I agree. I'd prefer a normal straw hat or a bandana w/good mods over a silly leather cap or mage hat or kasa.
I can't imagine it'd be that hard to add these to the game... sure there's bigger fish to fry, but at least throw us a bone. We all know how long these big fish take to fry, they treat them like wine and wait until they're ripe and old to do anything about it.
I would also like cloth hats with nice resists and mods... I try to make my chars look nice so sometime ill pick a feathered hat or a floppy hat with less resists to make my guy look the way i want him to.
with the new turn in armor they gave us choices, why not do the same always ? use a token for kasa of the raj-in or hat of magi gump pops up saying what style would you like ? this is not hard to do we can look like neon mohawked elfs why not a feathered hat for goodness sakes ?
Well, one of the reasons it is difficult is hats are made from cloth not leather. All the runic crafting is built around leather items and the ability to enhance as well.
By default anything craftable is enhanceable so this would 'break the rules' to some extent and probably require lots of extra programming.
I agree that I would like to do it - but I don't think it is as simple as everyone thinks.
Hats should be craftable with runics but not enhanceable loot.
