Runic Hammer burning

So I have several of each DC through Bronze hammers and was wondering what the best way is to use them so I can get rid of them and maybe get a few good items.

Do I make items with a coloured ore, or do I use iron so I can enhance the items and does it matter?

What items should I be making?

The last time I did this, I ended up with a ton of slayers, but they had no mods since they were all done with iron and using (I think) DC runics.

Save them till january there will be a publish to increase the intensities of runic hammers. If you wait till then you should be able to make some nice items. you can read about it here

Making with iron then enhancing is a really bad idea, there is a long drawn out explanation of it somewhere in the archives.

Basically, sure, you can save some colored ingots on the bad roll items, but if you get that good item, and then destroy it in enhancing, won't you be miffed?

Hopefully you have gmed arms lore but then after that you need to figure out if you want to sell or keep. If you want to sell then I don't think you should enhance them unless you have more than you can possibly sell. I think most smiths who sell stuff don't bother with low end runics. If you don't want to sell then look at each weapon and think do I want this to disappear? If the answer is no then don't enhance it , wait till you have 2 similar weapons then enhance one and if it goes poof then you still have the other one and if it enhances then feel free to enhance the other if you want since it will be no loss if it goes poof. The enhancement success rate for weapons seems much greater than for armor but they will still go poof. If you are going to burn piles of low end runics you will need to get rid of the weapons you don't want and enhancing will help a little but not so much as with armor. There is little point in making armor from low end runics but if you make armor make it from valorite or verite and don't enhance as many would say making armor with runics is a waste (but I do it with bronze hammers.)
ps You might want to wait for the runic hammer changes

I'm planning on waiting for changes, yes. Not burning anything off at the moment.

What does arms lore do for smithing anymore?

I keep dull coppers and shadows until I want to make weapons for weapon bods. Then I go wild and make everything at once and try to get super slayers.

With the new changes I might also get good mods which will be very nice.

Arms lore adds... um I think it's 1 DI or 1 resist for every 20 in skill.
