Ruining a game

On my shard we have a red guild that pretty much camp and own despise fel, the guild also have a website that sell what they get for real money and have roped in some blue guilds some they just infiltrate with alts (one which i used to be in) as spotters, helpers, gankers, etc

I really do feel that this type of camping ruins the game, anyone coming in will be befriended by the blues to "help" with the spawn untill the end when they have outlived their usefulness and get eliminated.

Ive seen it happen time and time again and it seems to have become more and more the norm recently. I know of blues that have quit because of it and i do feel its adding to the demise of the game.

I did confront a couple of the people involved who said "just quit then" after admitting this is what they do. Who will they sell their gold to in future is the question.

One of the main reason our guild does not do Despise, Destard, [Dungeon Champs] is you can herd the cats there, but any where else its impossible to herd the cats so they cannot cover all the exits and the cats gets away.

Fel is and always has been a place were if you trust someone its your own fault if you get stabbed in the back! its a evil place where death is your neighbor and if you get taken in by someone its your fault period. not flaming anyone but the whole point of fell is pvp stealing death and most things bad you can think of that's the challenge of fell!
moral of the story is trust nobody ever in fel for any reason even your own guild if you do you dont belong in fel....

get your own force together. My guild of 4 actives went to a shard we knew nothing about to find out that there 2 big zerg spawn guilds. since arriving they been forcibly introduce to superior tactics, templates and player skill. These guilds find themselves losing fights in which they outnumber us 3 to 1. crush them utterly or continue to fail. all it takes is a small group of highly motivated to players to alter an entire shards balance of power.

Dont think you get the point, has nothing to do with ganking or death in fel, has to do with gold and the ability some guilds take in selling it for real money, its killing the game.

I dont hate them, i think they should wake up and smell the umbra road, people are leaving and fast, they are lost in the little world of making gold to sell and dont seem to realise that the only people they are hurting is themselves (and those they kill, and possibly those people they sell too, the banks, the economy, thier mothers, oh and jesus).

A lot do tend to raid regardless of "location" only time you will find most of those guilds not raiding is when they feel they can't win, and even then there is a good chance they will if no other spawns are active.

spawn at less advantageous times to your enemies or make a group of elite spawners. rat spawns can be finished in under 8 minutes by a group of 4. most cams are only delay timers and getting the people to form up takes time. don't expect to always win but a speed team will get a minimum of 60% success rates.

That's why I am convinced that Trammel should also yield 120 powerscroll and 25 stat scrolls, to deal with those problems.

I have never agreed nor liked the selling and buying of UO items for real money and my opinion is that it hurt the game and disrupt game play to quite a few players.

Scripting, duping, camping and the like are all things which have been hurting UO, IMHO.

But for the topic of gold farmers, people do that everywhere, not just in fel. Infact I believe more people do that in tram than fel for obvious reasons. (can't get pk'd in tram)

Edit: It can be done and no real way to prevent it. Hinder it perhaps by going after scripters but people will always find a way to do it.

If by gm you mean Game master I would take that in stride, everything in the game is "recorded" so to say, so anything he says could potentially be "heard" or found out, and I don't think most Game masters would bother risking saying that in game.

UO has almost always allowed the buying and selling of gold and other uo "property" so I don't believe it has hurt the game since it has always been around, and I do mean always. The players hurt the game with their tactics and cheating yes, but that would happen anyway. and papps if ALL the players who thought scrolls should be attainable in tram would go to fel and do the spawns like they use to when the scrolls came out, these people who "control" the champ spawns would not be able to do as such, I do not push a play style on anyone but I will say that they were put in fel for a reason and have been kept out of tram this long for the same reason and more, countering one stupid idea with another is not always a winning plan (in this case camping vs ps in tram).

To be perfectly honest if more people showed interest in fel, and went there more often none of this would be a problem and never would have become a problem the PLAYERS (yes you included) allowed this to happen and then complain about it. "people who live in glass houses should not throw stones"

it sounds like this guy is simply incapable of competing with superior foes so those foes probably face alot of inferior competitors and as a result find themselves with excess wealth. excess wealth translates to more chars geared and prepped, usually a good sized following and great excess to rl cash. Who could blame them. if you're awesome at UO, why not let it pay the cable bill?

Because its against the tos for a start, can you read? I do fel all the time have no problems with fighting, being ganked and dying, what I have a problem with is people that camp for the sake of rl money at the expense of other players.

What is against the TOS? selling gold in uo is perfectly legal, the only thing against the tos is advertising of a website. And if I didn't say it before I will say it now, With or with out the ability to make real money people would still do these things, as it is satisfactory to the kind of people they are, really it has nothing to do with making real money, sure while most do make money this way my point is they would do it even if they could not.

they don't do it for the money. the money is a perk of being good at a game. the money feeds into them running multiple accounts and if they want buying the best gear available.

Your griping that these people own the spawns. If they didn't make rl cash from the spawns they'd wipe the floor with you for the in game gold. If that bothers you then find your own crew to get even. In any case, people really don't care that you get ganked and that the people who did it are thriving.
