it bloody well does...it makes a huge difference...
skinned deers are awesome deco ...once sold for a pretty packet yet are pratically thrown away knowadays...
sorry the price for the ruined painting cannot be keept high high forever...when everybody as one and a spare one...u watch the prices drop...
Make a thief, get one and sell it at the price you think is fair. Until that happens, its a seller's market and value is determined by them. Instead of saying it 'should' be lower... why don't you be proactive and work on lowering the price yourself? Hate to say it, but the price folks are willing to pay is sorta up to them and what -they- feel the item is worth to them.
For example, I love "______ of exceptional quality" items. I've shelled out millions for a couple of the harder to find ones in my collection. Now is that what most people would think its worth? No, but I've paid it because it is worth it -to me-. Stop worrying about prices and let individual buyers decide. If its too much for you, just don't buy it.
Disclaimer: I do not, nor have ever owned, a ruined painting. I haven't felt a desire to buy one because it hasn't fit in with my house decor.
