The regiment of Umbra now has its own stone; RBGU. We will follow all mandates from the EM's and have their blessing to continue being part of the RP theme with the exception of the inclusion in the factions system.
A guild mechanic is useful for declaring wars and "highlighting" which enhances RP, but I am just a Captain (as Kalmar Erikkson) and my commander is Commander Kanlocke, which takes direct orders from the Crown. But no one is forced to join the Umbra regiment "guild" to be part of the RP Theme. If you wish to be a Royal Guard for Umbra, just RP your character through the recruiting requirement --- or talk to me about creating your own RP for "boot camp"--- you then have the option to stay unguilded, stay in your current guild, or join the RBGU guild.
