Where you at?

We need to kickstart some good roleplaying story lines. I particularly like the 'good' versus 'evil' ones. I can bring the 'good', any active evil roleplayers out there?

And any interest from any roleplayers, be they evil, good, or neutral?

Only a natural occurring roleplaying story line can work on Siege Perilous.
As a basis for building this story line, the players which agree and disagree
with the PREMISE of such play must describe what they do and why they do
those actions. More power to anyone who can get everyone to cooperate
toward this type of game.
This is a bottom up design game.

So far, the existing roleplaying story line lacks a premise beyond kill on sight,
loot them, hide, and farming resources to do crafting.

This is Kulharin, is the good vs evil thing even still possible with the current ruleset and size of the world on siege? Worked out for awhile but eventually a lot of people left UO and most players clustered at Luna, which was one of the all time worst locations for PvP with the guard zones and rigged player houses in the square.

Trying complaining less and winning (not whining) more. Luna was great... In this case you blame the gamer and not the game:mf_prop:

It was the PLAYER that decided the location for action. I'd make the suggestion you not ghost dungeons looking for fun... but I think you learned that lesson already.

Yes, mass ganking, people exploiting the creeping guardzone as it extended outwards into the square, people exploiting the moongate, and exploiting tweaked out safe-zone houses for an advantage. Yes high quality pvp; there was nothing great or fun about it in my opinion. I enjoyed fair and balanced pvp away from guard zones or from where people can hide in the safety of their house while hurling projectiles. Can you enlighten me on the great factor I'm missing out? PvP around Luna was the most disgusting PvP era in Siege's history.

I did quite a bit of pvping around Umbra as well and it was a hell of a lot better, yet for some reason people like yourself flocked to Luna and the masses followed. I did my best to avoid it and search for pvp opportunity elsewhere, which eventually led to no opportunities for pvp. But I'm glad you were able to find entertainment value in throwing a bola ball at someone from your window and then shouting "all kill"

How is following someone to their house Role Playing?
How can you possibly complain about luna when you were the ones there trying your best to cast into houses and then die when you got what you wanted... PvP?:mf_prop:
How again can you complain when the Guard Zone that wacked you was there to keep the people you were attacking safe?
Either learn to make the change that keeps you from getting killed or quit and come back and complain. Choice is yours... Wait, you made it huh..?
And the Bola comment (???)... About as neat as the Necro casting a REV on you or a Mage precasting/stacking spells or a warrior running 150 mana and moving shotting you to death at a full run or a never seen person unless its a death shot or ect ect ect. Learn to counter and cope.:gee:

I believe this boat thing between Nightstalker, Saint Dismas and I qualifies as RP. They scuttle my boat, and leave me taunts in my hold. Right now my cannons are being held for ransom. This is a situation I will have very much fun responding to once I get back home.

Good .vs. evil is over-rated. Why not just define your character and play out your role ... building your allies and enemies organically?

It kind of disappointed me when CWS would attack me for doing something like attacking Darth without a bit of introspection regarding the rules that forced them to defend him ... and more of a "woo hoo! finally some action around here".

IMO, the grey areas are where the most fun is to be had.

Oh, and hi.

Hi Corwin How is Star?
Hi Spree!

I'm thinking Star is probably enjoying a quiet after-life. I left him in the care of a stable master a couple of years ago in an alternate universe, but I'm told there was some sort of catastrophe resulting in entire lands getting wiped.

I'm in no particular rush to resurrect him ... but thought I'd see if I couldn't figure out how to register on the new boards to keep in touch.

Back when I was a member of the Skara Brae Rangers on LS, we used to have "a rat" visit us at our Ranger HQ. He was cute, but apparently was a bit of a pack rat and kept taking things. Some folks wanted to kill the rat, or keep him out, and others got upset about how the others treated the rat.

Funny how a little rat can cause so much chaos...

What really funny is when the moonglow town guard is marching in formations and a little frog can stay in line better than the recruits and when the frog hops on the Sargent of arms head.

I got a brief chance to roleplay recently over on Ches. shard, when a buncha pirates roleplayed attacking pilaging and ransacking others homes, ships or chrs. and so forth.

I seen their lil spy ship dingy in my feluccan sea back yard Magincia, and logged on all my chrs. with ships and boxed his dingy in to the degree that the pirate had to dry dock it to get it out of my back sea yard.

Then they snuck back and roleplayed torching my house. I then hit customising mode, and turned my home into fire tiles and rubble. :)

Then other good ship owners, went off in their ships attacking pirate ships, for torchin my house and the pirate's ships fought back and a sea war ensued.
Was fun while it lasted. :)

Here we could all get into a sea war land war cuz atm I do not think Luka has her cannons back...lets all go attack or 'convert' the vile ones to surrendering to the good side or surrendering her cannons, back to her, for free or something ! Since Siege is ALL fel ruleset ya would think there be ship battles roleplaying New Magincia other city ship pirate sorts of invasions or whatevers could happen, 'here' more often.

*roleplaying is sometimes, what^ever, we make of it* :)

But we could try to do something with evil vs. good ship lollipop ship land sea home ownerships, here too. Got an entire sea out there and all of New Magincia etc. to try to do something with, kinda like they tried to do over there, and then it dawned on em they had to TRY it [on the fel side] too, to make it work better a bit more convincingly, in felucca. hehe Just does not work as well in a trammel at all can't kill no body ! :)

Thus I roleplayed a VICTIM, redid my feluccan New Mag. house to make it look like it was torched & laid to waste, by vile pirates and a war ensued *briefly* via those coming to my aide and the good side.

Think they all went back to trammel :( after that mini event of roleplayin' good vs evil via ships and sea and land, on feluccan ruleset there *briefly* ! :* meh !!
*looks at her empty feluccan Ches. island, once again*:(

It's funny, but a lot of the guys I knew who were caught up in the RP staged wars on LS - became some of the best PvP'ers. Of course they got involved in all of that long before there was a Trammel, so maybe that makes a difference, but I'm not sure why.

Nah, I've only ever been peripherally involved in any of that. One of the guilds tried to drag the Skara Brae Rangers in to it (a vampire guild run by "Dawn Desire"), but in our first encounter she decided to break the rules we'd set up in advance so that was that ... well, except for some of our guild members she managed to suck away... *grumbles*

But as we split off a sub-guild to get in to Order/Chaos it attracted some of the guys who liked to PvP (you might remember names like Dolan/Galen, Thomas, Silas, and Brak) who joined up with us because ... well ... basically they could fight with a competent group without feeling like dirt bags. lol ... they all ended up on Siege at one point or another.

As it turns out some of those "dirt bag" guilds were better about following the rules for their own contrived PvP events (ex: Guardian's Chosen (GC) occasionally ran them on LS)... but I was told later that Dawn was probably the last person who should have been sent to try to get us involved in Divided Lands or whatever it had morphed in to by then.
