I have used well over 1 million logs.. and not even got an oak runic kit. Why bother doing this until this system gets fixed? Has anyone else even experienced this?

I highly doubt this.
CHeck your script - maybe while you are munching cheeto's it is sorting out the oak runic and then accidentally using it to make the next set of bows.
There is NO WAY you go through 1m boards at 70 per quest and don't get an Oak runic. Thats 14,285 times through the quest.
You should get at least an oak runic every 60k or less boards.

Remember the Gambler's Fallacy when dealing with something like Heartwood runic drops... unless they use a ToT style system, you could in effect never recieve ANY runic, you PROBABLY will, but it isn't a guarantee.

First, I don't munch Cheetos.
Secondly, I don't script. I use do use uoassist, and I do get the bags, but in them NO runics. So I have spent quite a few more hours there, and have just quit. No more. I even tried with a different char on the same account. Soulstoned fletching.
Not to rub salt in the wound, but I got 2 heartwood fletching kits on the same trip last week.
(I only make a few trips per month to heartwood, but saw a dramatic rise in the number of runics dropping during pub 60 ... I don't know if its anything I did or we've just been sitting at opposite ends of random luck)

On that note, at the risk this has already been answered, does in game luck affect getting these runics in either the carpentry or fletching runics?

last trip I took 4 packies with 1550 boards each, plus what i could carry in my pack. I gave up halfway through the wood.WOW... thats just really unlucky, i usually do a beetles worth first thing in the morning and always come away with atleast 2 kits. Sometimes even 2 heartwoods
I do the quest making regular bows. And I have seen people get 4 drops in an hour, and i go hours and hours and get nothing.

Considering it takes about 200-300K boards on average for each heartwood runic, you're definitely either miscalculating somewhere, or doing something else wrong. Not even the worst streak of the RNG would prevent you from getting any runics after a million boards.
Interesting that you do not script. Especially considering the timing of your departure from heartwood weeks back (when that easy macro proggie went down) and your sudden arrival once again (the same day that easy macro proggie went up). Seems to suggest unfair practice, but then again what do I know. You say it isnt so, so it must be true?

I would say it's not bugged. I went in this week on my fighter who does not have fletching or bowyer for that matter. I turn in crossbow bolts 10 at a time because they are fairly useless to me. After turning in about 90 or so bolts (not quests - bolts) I got a heartwood kit. Then again I haven't gotten another one since but it was nice.

yea and i am asking myself why are all the non scripters here are well informed about the script programms (what they are able to do and when they are patched etc. etc.)
i do not script (i dont care what you believe or not) and i dont care about the programm and why should i bother to visit the websites of them when i dont script.
i really dont want to know how many non scripters here are scripters

Wonder how you came up with your profile name? Mabye because it is what you spew forth belongs in the Restroom. I DO NOT SCRIPT, unless you count UOMacros (Use Last Object) or UOAssist. Every bow I make is the result of ME clicking a button in game or running UOAssist macro to make 10 of last made, and to automatically use object type for the fletch tools.
How would you know if I have or have not been in heartwood. First you don't know my char name for my mule. Secondly even if you did, what part of soul stoning fletching over to another char did you not understand? And did you NOT catch the part about I stopped even trying because of the bad luck?
If you must Troll, either hide out under a bridge, or go fishing. But trolling is not for the boards.
