Hial,

I'm playing UO again after a break of 4 years. Much have changed! and I need some advice about my character.
I have a Fencer.
Stats 720 cap;
Fencing 110
Anatomy 100
Healing 100
Wrestling 51
Tactics 100
Parry 100
Resist 76
Chiv 66

Is this still a good template?
I also have a soulstone and some other skills to change with;
archery 85
magery 100

My main goal in uo will be pvm with some pvp. I'm thinking about switching archery in for wrestling and lower my resist. Would template do good?.

Last thingy, before I went away from UO my account was hacked so I dont have any good gear. What will cheap/easy to get gear for this char? I still have 3 heritage tokens, any good gear to get out of that?

Lots of questions to get me started again, but I hope you guys can point me into a good direction. thanks alrdy

There is no point in having wrestling. Your weapon skill needs to be 120 if you PvP. Also, resist needs to be 100+ for PvP.

If you choose to run without resist PvM you might be okay. A lot of people run Necromancy for Vampiric Embrace. It allows you to like leech 20% of the damage you do, its less I believe in archery. You can resist lvl 4 and below poisons. It gives a Mana Regen of 2(?) and SR of 15.

You may also consider running Bushido in place of Parry. Just take a look at the FAQ at the top of the page. If you read a few pages of this forum, you should get a good feel of what to do.

first off welcome back.

in looking at your template i am assuming that 4 years ago you had
eaten no 120 scrolls. Being that your account is hacked i would
surmise you are lacking of any good gear. Even if not hacked your
gear would be lacking anyway as the new skill of imbuing has reallly
raised the bar on what is now good armor.

the good news on this is that imbuing lowers the cost of making a
good suit and lowers the need to run the big expensive artifacts from
days gone by.

i know you mentioned pvp but frankly your not at that level yet.

i would focus first on cleaning up that template and than focusing on
pvm play.

i would make that char a gen purpose mele guy at first and if you desire
a sampire.

your goal after getting your template fixed will be to get the ingredients you
need to make a new set of gear as well as getting extra ingredients to sell
so you can get upto speed and get some gold back in the bank.

im taking it your playing overseas shard as your english would point to it not being your first language. in any event you should post an introduction message on the shard you play. Many people are looking for new recruits and you would be surprised how much of the community will help you get upto speed. i play chessy so if your there ill gladly get u set up.

for your temp.

drop wrestle and pick up bushido.

bushido allows you to do several things. perfection (gains passively by consecutive succesful hits in combat) increasing damage. confidence to heal very good when on the run and evasion for avoiding magic attacks.

i would strongly reccomend you make this char a sampire and i suggest, if you read nothing else on stratics to read lynk's sampire build on this board.
this is a blueprint for one of the best pvm chars in the game. You can make a reasonable copy of this via non faction but you should copy the weapons to a T. your fencing so you want to make a leafblade for your big weapon and some kamas so you can whilrlwind.

if you dont have it make sure your account has the stygian abyss upgrade. that way you can get in there and start getting ingredients to make your suit. you will find many crafters willing to help you as long as you provide the ingredients.

your heritage tokens really dont get what you need. however they are increasing in value and imho your better off selling them and using the gold for something else.

good luck.

many thanks for the info,

I will go for the bushido template of lynk's.
Will drop wrestling for bushido and healing for necro.
How do I heal myself then? chivalry? or from a bushido skill?

I alrdy have on another char, 100 necro so that will do fine. Only need to raise bushido from 50 then.
Does it matter that I have fencing instead of swordmanship? it's just the kind of weapon right?

The end template will look like this;
Anatomy 120
Bushido 120
Fencing 20
Parry 90
Necro100
Chivalry 65
Tactics 120

I don't have eaten any 120 scrolls yet, so It willl take some time to get there.

My english is indeed not my first language. I'm playing on Europa but gonna server transfer this main to atlantic. All friends are gone in europa and I hope to find some new on atlantic.
Getting the 8th anni box tomorrow, so I will have a transfer token + advanced char token from that box. After that I will go upgrade to stygian abyss. Just need to find a cheap wa to buy the upgrade.

You'll do fine with fencing to start out. You may want to look into whether any 120 mace scrolls are available on your shard before transferring to Atlantic as that's another option until you have the funds to buy the more expensive Swords scroll.

For healing you will have four sources - leeching back life through damage dealt while in vampiric form, drinking heal potions if 1 handed weapon equipped, the bushido Confidence ability, and as a last resort Close Wounds. Basically, as long as you keep swinging your weapon and dealing damage to the monster you'll far outpace whatever healing you would get from Healing. For what it's worth, I run with healing instead of parrying, but only really use it to cure level 5 poison.

good advice by gorbs. i agree with the idea of picking up whatever items you can on europa as atlantic prices are bound to be higher.

also the beauty of this char is that you can play it prior to being all 120'd out.

my char is only 110 bushido and does fine as i prefer to work that skill to 120 over time by doing spawns rather than smacking around a cat at luna bank.

keep in mind that lynks' armor build is the ferrari of all builds. Your char will still have very good survivability if you settle for a suit of lesser means to start out with.

i would definatley drop the coin to make the same weapons though. theres nothing to the crafting of those weapons that is so hard to obtain.

good luck.
