Returning to UO

I am returning to UO from a 5 year break. Is the Greak Lakes shard an active shard. I have 5 characters on Great Lakes but I dont want to continue to level if this shard is not active.

Any advice for a returning player?

I don't know about Trammel, but Fel is jumping with pvp activity. Luna seems to always be packed as well. I'm new to GL myself so I couldn't really point you in the right direction, but so far it seems to be very active.

I played from 1999 to 2004 and then quit.

I came back about two months ago and am loving Great Lakes. Well populated, generally a good bunch of players, especially those of -Y- who I was fortunate enough to hook up with. All my characters are now in -Y-

Couldnt agree more. The joke is on everyone that still pays. Including myself. I only pay for one instead of 6 now but I still pay.

I wouldn't listen to Hydro or Officerdg, they are just kind of bitter because they aren't good at most aspects of UO.

It's still a lot of fun and the expansion has a lot of stuff to keep you busy.

It's certainly not the same as it was 5 years ago in terms of population. 95% of the player vendor runes I've had (like 20 runebooks full) most have quit or were shutdown. (no more rkmart or Ultimas for instance) Some have simply moved to a higher traffic location. But it's safe to say most have quit. In terms of problems with UO... Same ole stuff different day.

First off u dont know me or any one of my characters even though Onyxia for sure has died to me a good many times. Hydro and I as u say, we may not be good at several aspects of the game but, u are absolutely horrid at ALL aspects at the game. Lastly I will not say anymore to or about you as we all, or atleast several of us knows what happens when Lynks feelings get hurt or he gets put in his place on stratics. UO does still have fun stuff to do and as long as you dont mind fighting with the same 20 to 30 people in the same area of the game day after day after day then by all means come back. HOWEVER, if u want a game that has any substance to it, a game where they actually have GM's to enforce the rules, a game that doesnt allow ITTPs then UO is ABSOLUTELY NOT a game to waste your money on. They are struggling to keep the game afloat in EAs eyes. There is not and never will be any advertisement for the game makeing the chances of a growing player base pretty bad. If Great Lakes is the 2nd most populated shard then WOW this game is in very bad shape. They could drop virtually every server and put there entire current ACTIVE player base on one realm, maybe 2 with no problem and save them money on a smaller server.

Unlike u . I dont feel the need nor do I have any reason to prove anything to the likes of you or the rest of your stratics clan. I dont have any reason or need to make my epeen look any bigger on or over stupid a video game. Lastley, I moved out of moms basement many years ago as a result, I GOT A LIFE !! You are nothing, you are worse than nothing. I will leave it at that as u arent worth a pot to **** in let alone the time it takes me to responde to you.

That means the game is DEAD compared to what it was. There is NO advertisement and costs to maintain go up daily. I don't think you are really as happy with yourself as you let on, considering all of the real life personal attacks you directed at me just there.

Curious to know where you get your 40 people at any given time number... but I think everyone knows you just pulled it out of your ass.

Any time I've logged in in the last few months I can count many more than 40.

I'd appreciate it if you stopped taking your feelings of inadequacy out on me.

I would like to appologize to all that got offended in this forum. The advice I was asking for in game. I really enjoyed the content of UO in the past and that is why I was looking to come back. It does seem to me some people may have nothing better to do than sit around and gripe. I am not oblivious to the fact that UO does not have the population that it once did. I was just hoping to find a group of active players to game with.

MMORPG's are supposed to be fun and enjoyable for people to step out of the day-to-day grind and have fun. It might be best for anyone that is not happy with the UO or the people you game with to find something else to do that will make you happy.

Just last weekend DC had 30people in vent! I guess that means we where the only ones on the server?
