Returning to Britannia (once again haha)

Hi all,

I am returning once again to Ultima after many, many attempts at making it a permanent gaming home. Every time i have played i have received the entertainment value from the game, but what always prevents me from staying is the lack of building wealth. A nest egg if you will. I have been reading these threads about starting anew and how people do it (especially the ones that are easily navigated to from Fin of LS' thread about making a sampire), however, these threads either just give templates or presume once one has completed the character the money will just begin flowing. I am looking for some specific things to hunt, gather, ect in order to make this money. I have the Following characters from previous playings Miner/Smith, Scribe Mage, Tamer, ABC, Sampire so if you can provide specific tips for these classes or something it would be greatly appreciated. I posted this in the Atlantic Shard forum because i know that economies differ shard to shard so it might be advantageous to have an Atlantic prospective. Also if someone could give me some info on Newbie/Returning player guilds and how to contact them it would be greatly appreciated.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Hello there,

Well first of all , Welcome to Atlantic :) make sure you read the Welcome to Atlantic sticky, it has a lot of important info in it.

And yes finding a place to live shouldnt be to hard eather.
As for making Gold... its really up to what you like to do.
Recources allways sell , but it can get boring to gather them.

The new drops for imbuing seem to sell well, but again that will mean sittiong somewhere waiting for a buyer or running a vendor.

Champspawns , allways good gold in there.

So its really up to you :)

most important, have fun doing it :)

This does present something of a problem. The real issue here is not so much wealth, as inflation in the economy.
It is relatively easy to quickly acquire enough cash to buy a small or medium size house to establish a base of operations, a home, a forge for thatb smith etc-using a house placement tool--the problem on Atlantic is findind the space ( there are some small spots still available)

However, if you have any ambitions of raising your skills via Power Scroll beyond 115, and buying the scroll, then you are in for sticker shock and a long haul. The same with many of the the rare or good items.

Solutions=the community. They probably wont provide a cheap 120 scroll, but all the rest I have found folks more than willing to re-equip my toons, help a newb with cash without asking, mounts , pointing our housing spaces etc. A guildl, which I am cureently courting ( or is courting me , not sure) id another great source of help.

The bottom line advice for you in estblishing a permanent presence , is do what the MMO's is designed to do--work and communicate with other people. You will find your answer there, and although the journey to your goal of independent wealth will still be long, it won't be lonely.

Hail and well met!

Grab your Sampire, Tamer, ABC, or Mage and hit the Stygian Abyss. Farm those beasties that you find you can kill, and collect the ingredients you get from them.

Cavern of the Discarded is a rat spawn that progresses until the Renown Spawns. He is the ' champ ' so to speak. The rats aren't too bad, and there are usually folks about. You can always bail if it gets too intense.

Once you have collected some ingredients use your global chat to advertise your wares. That way you can keep hunting while you sell your collections.

Boura pelts collected off the Highland Boura's sell well also. They are an ingredient used to imbue resists. They wander about North of Ter Mur City.

You can make some good gold off the ingredients that imbuer's need.

Good luck!

*high plains boura..not highland*
