Returning Tamer - ? on animals

I haven't played my tamer in a while, long enough that I can't remember why I stopped.
I have fully trained circa WW (w/ the cool ice color) and old school mare.
Along with these I also have fully tamed cu.
Tried on swoop, constant healing on Cu, slow as crap on WW.

If i don't have a GreaterD, i don't have **** anymore? I've been told this by other tamers doing forgotten servants. The rest are all Useless?

Makes me afraid to go do Bloods and Elders, nurfed?

LOL. No way. You can get by quite nicely without the greaters, using two pets. As you might expect, your abilites for vet/heal on your pets becomes more important, as there is two of them. If you feel comfortable doing that, a bug/mare, bug/bake combo is great. You can substitute in a dread warhorse for the bug, if you have one or can get one. The two pets do far more damage, more quickly, than a gdrag. Personally, I have a couple nice gdrags, but I just hate playing with them tbh. The problem is, there is too many wannabe tamers with gdrags who think they're good.

I like my GD but they are not invulnerable. how you handle them is just as important as how strong it is.

My main GD complaints are it sucks in PVP (too slow), and of course you can't be mounted (intended).

I bought SA and a race change token. I'm considering the plunge to change my tamer into a dingbat for the flying ability. I'm already an elf without the JOAT so I won't be losing much and will be gaining something which is desperately needed when using a GD. I want to get a full set of armor first though before I do that.

A Rune Beelte & Nightmare or a pair of Bake Kitsunes are the fastest for Swoop imo. (unless you have Discord or the ability to tank and use a pack of Frenzies.)
