Returning Player - Question about pre-patch 3 slot giant beetle

Hi all,

Returning player here. (I stopped just before ML expansion).

I realized that I have a couple of pre-patch giant beetles (untrained) that seemed to have defaulted to 3 slots.

Stats wise, they don't seem any better than the current new 1 slot giant beetles.

Should I release the old 3 slot giant beetles into the wild ?

If they don't have any sentimental value, yes.

New Tames are 1 slot.

Before they nerfed it in a failed attempt to prevent exploitation of Cus and several other creature types, it was once possible to release a beetle and retame with the owner to drop it to 1 slot. But not anymore.
