Returning player need template advice

Hi,

I'm returning to the game after 6 years out. Basically, I want to create a PvM char capable of soloing the mini-champs in SA.

I don't have any cash really so buying an uber suit is out of the question. From what I've read, an ABC archer seems to be a viable option but I'm not sure how item-dependent that build is. Also, I've read a lot about Sampires but I'm not exactly sure what they are and how item-dependent they are.

If anyone could give me some advice with regards to skills, stats, equipment and tactics I would be very appreciative.

Cheap options are:

A. A Mystic, doesnt need 120 scrolls to begin with, just get a basic 100 lrc suit and try to go 110 mysticism / focus for a good start. If you are training one from scratch, put imbuing on the char and train that as you go.

B. ABC Archer, but with throwing on a gargoyle char. Much cheaper to build then Archer counterpart.

C. A macing wammy, but that one does require that you absolutly know what you do.

A + B are also nice chars for group hunts with a guild, as you cant do much wrong with them. C really shines solo.
I wont go into template details, there are enough threads about this stuff around.

Don't worry about an uber suit to begin with anyway. Keep your template simple at first. If at some point you want to change a characters skill set you can use a soul stone. A simple template that's effective is bushido - swords. Busido will let you one-hand parry effectively and that lets you use potions. It also adds to your whirlwind damage and that will help with mobs. Use a modded radiant scimitar. Mana leech on the weapon is also a good idea. Welcome back and have fun!
