We would like your help in promoting a place, on the Europa shard, where returning players can live whilst they get their heads back into the systems and rhythms of UO. As any returning player will probably tell you the first feeling when logging back into UO is bewilderment. There have been so many changes and there seem to be so few ways of finding out the answers you need to get yourself back into the Sosarian way of life.
Returning players will most likely have a little gold stashed away, some older (and most likely useless) armour and weapons and some ideas of how the game works. They are not new players, they have an idea of what they would like to do and how they wish to play. They do not want babysitting, they just need a momentary helping hand whilst they find old friends or new ones, whilst they decide if it will be crafting or pvping that they want to pursue.
We already have the daily bank meeting where questions can be asked and answered (you would be surprised at the numbers of returning players who stop in for a while as they acclimatise once more).
Some of us were granted access to a castle recently with the intention of building a place for returning players to reside in, temporarily, until they find their feet. It is now ready and awaiting occupants. It is fully kitted out and the RAA alliance have stocked it with some useful equipment and advice. There is a meeting place within where we hope the returning folk can congregate and build their own group of friends and adventurers.
Several room have been designed as dormitories with locked secure storage for each individual player. The idea is simple, stay for as long as you wish, use the castle as your base of operations, leave when you are find your own path.
So...if you come across a returner who needs a temporary home direct them to us at the West Britain bank meeting (6-7pm UK time, every single evening) or get them to contact myself @Valura @Minerva Foxglove or @Petra Fyde . We will find them and set them up.
