I've recently returned to UO after 5 or 6 years and have been busily trying to play catch up with all the changes.
After reading various viable tamer templates for PvM I settled on adding spellweaving to my current skills, giving me a template of:
Taming 105
Eval 100
Mage 100
Lore 100
Vet 100
Med 100
Weaving 100
What are some of the ways I can make these skills more effective for PvM?
To sum up what I've already learned:
-arcane focus greatly enhances the effectiveness of spells
-try to make use of spell damage increase equipment/armour
-try to minimize mana drain use through lower mana requirement and mana regeneration
I've read the spell descriptions and have gone through the forums to understand a bit about how they're used, however the game has advanced so much since I last played that now, strategies vary according to the situation. With that said, what are some of the more effective uses for spellweaving for tamers and the situations to which they apply?
Also:
Are the useful spells really only gift of renewal, arcane focus, and word of death?
Are any spells aside from Gift of Renewal beneficial for my pet in combat?
Should I go elf or human? The only real human benefit I see is the increased loot capacity, but the mana could be nice with elf. Are there any other advantages/disadvantages for switching to elf being a spellweaving tamer?
Lastly, is there any benefit to increase the skill past 100 other than increased success in casting WoD?
PS. What is a mob? haha. I understand it's a monster, but is it more specific than that? I leave for a few years and look what happens.
Thanks in advance
