Hail!

I last played UO in perhaps 2000 or 2001, and I'm wondering if my old account still exists. The account management page asks for an EA account or a Mythic account. I don't recall ever having either. I do remember my UO username and password. Is there any way to salvage my old account? Not that I'd be shocked my account is gone after a decade, but still it'd be nice to reconnect with my old characters.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm not even sure whose customer support to contact (who are Mythic? what is the relation to EA? what happened to Origin?).

Mythic Bioware is the successor to Origin at EA. A lot of the older players seem to not realize it, but Origin had been a part of EA for five years BEFORE UO was released (about 20 years ago). Mythic made the Dark Age of Camelot & Warhammer MMORPGs, and Bioware has made numerous games, including the new Star Wars: The Old Republic MMORPG.

When the SWTOR project came about, there was a decision made to try to unify customer IDs (especially for online games) under a system called Origin (as a tribute to the old company/division). This system was introduced last year (and still has a lot of bugs). This system also acts as an online store for the game expansions.

If you have the last email that your account was linked to, the first step is to set up an EA account. Once you do that, you then create a Mythic account linked to it. Once that's done, you start associating your accounts with the Mythic account. In that step, the UO accounts are considered the original name of the account with "_uo" attached to the end of it.

There's a walkthrough for it in the U.Hall forum.

If the email account last associated with the game account is no longer in operation, that will prove more difficult, and you'll have to contact support. It will be helpful to already have an EA account and Mythic account set up prior to this, using the active email account that you wish to associate the UO account to.
