Returning after 3 years away and a little lost

Hello

I'm coming back to UO after almost 3 years away and while it's coming back quite quickly I'm a little bit lost regarding some changes in the old dungeons.

I used to go to despise with my tamer to train my pets on the ogre lords on the last level, and now it seems that pets are forbidden there ?

I also went to shame, I needed dirt to plant some seeds and I though that it was a good way to get it while training a bit.
And I was quite surprised to find new monsters (the mud things and stone elem weren't there before or did I just forget ?), a wall, a wall guardian that doesn't attack, some shrine or statue where I can invoke a champion to fight with...
I didn't try to attack the wall guardian before knowing why he is there and why he isn't aggressive, can someone tell me about it ?

Also I got a lot of new loot named minor to major magical item, what's that ? And what about the artifacts that drop ?

Are there other changes in tram dungeons besides shame and deceit ?

Covetous and Exodus got revamps as well.

There's Ogre Lords in the New Haven Mines that was added. Earth eles can be found there too, though the best Earth ele spot for me has always been the Ratman mines at Sacrifice in Ilshenar (instead of going West to the skeletal dragon, go south).

Note also that Fel Despise is unchanged from the original, but that won't help for Ogre Lords.

Check the main UO Stratics page for links to descriptions of the revised dungeons.

Also look up the new skill from Stygian Abyss called Imbuing, and its related ability Reforging. The new loot from the dungeon revamps is related to reforging, in terms of naming nomenclature and properties related to those names. Items that are desirable from the loot (other than for breaking down with Imbuing for ingredents) are few an far between, but some of them can fetch tens of millions (stuff that has no negative properties other than luck, or has one extremely high end good property and no others that are good for Imbuing - some people will pay 20-50 million for loot bows with 40% SSI and no other properties).

Thanks for the answer Basara :)

I did some reading and am more clear about the changes, though I didn't know about new heaven mines and ogre lords, good to know!

I also was trying to figure out witch items from the new loot were useful for more than making imbuing ingredients, so you've helped a lot with that. I'll have to check again what I kept from my visits to shame, I got quite a few items with high level properties (major magic items and lower to major artifacts) I just didn't know what to do with. I was waiting to have enough imbuing skill to get relic fragments from those, but now I'll check if some are good to sell instead.

Some suggestions for loot to keep:

Mana regen 6 or 9 items that are medable (regardless of whether they are brittle, cannot be repaired, cursed, -100 luck, etc.). These can be used to make Mana regen suits for stay at home scribes.
Items whose only negatives are -100 luck, but are over the top in other attributes, might sell if those properties work together. Jewelry is the best bet here, as Cursed and -100 luck are the only two possible negatives for them.
Some people don't consider "cursed" that bad of a property (I find it amusing that some of the people screaming the loudest that Cursed ruins an item are the same ones that swear up and down that there should be no item insurance or blessed items).

And, putting together an uber-suit of items, even if they are unrepairable and cursed, isn't all that bad an idea for peerless runs, if not other things (you can always have your usual suit on you, insured, and use a macro to dress in it, should you die and have to fight your way back to your corpse. It's not like those same complainers above have any real interest in the cursed items on your corpse, though monsters might)
