one of the fun things about factions was the battlefeild in both britt and magincia, with roofs to tele on and off from, corners to run and hide behind
and the streetfight without 200 parafeilds

atm i am about to rejoin factions, and i really thing what i dislike the most right now is see the waste magincia is

this is the section about Magencia in the publish notes:

Old Magincia

* Three new quests to help heal the land by releasing the spirits trapped in Magincia’s ruins
o The quest giver is a mage near the Magincia moongate
o Quest rewards are three types of rubble, one for each quest (total of 12 pieces)
o Rubble rewards are all unique - they do not overlap craftables or Magincia Invasion rubble. You can see the possible rewards in the quest gump.
o Quests are non-repeatable
* Three types of ghosts now reside in Magincia
o Restless Souls
+ Invulnerable, unmoving
+ Notices player movements
+ Can be released by using Spirit Speak nearby
# Drops Threads of Life
o Forsaken Souls
+ Constantly wanders the streets of Magincia
+ Can be released by casting Exorcism nearby
# Drops Threads of Thought
o Corrupted Souls
+ Red, aggressive
+ Calls other Corrupted Souls nearby for help when attacking
+ Can only be released by being killed
# Drops Threads of Fate

it is a separate heading from all of the faction notes, and altho they may all tie in together later, it appears that right now they do not?

people have been completing these quests on test for a few days, are there any signs of rebuilding in Magencia yet? I'm thinking not, that this gathering of threads will have a purpose towards that end

They are going to rebuild it. This is from the Publish notes on www.uo.com. Pay attention to the first line...

It's the punishment for letting it get destroyed in the first place :)
Exactly in all reality magincia should be gone for good or at least for a very long time like the punishment for not cleansing the water which turned yew into a swamp for YEARS.

You play on Siege? It is gone for good then. You should have saved it when you had the chance.
There was no chance. It was supposed to blow up, that's the way it was designed.

True. But every shard was given the chance to defeat the spawn to have Magincia rebuilt. Siege was one of the few shards that chose to NOT be rebuilt. Draconni even confirmed it with Kelmo in a thread at the time.

almost right.

Siege made a conscious decision not to fight for the moongate, which is why Siege has a 'dead moongate' where the other shards have 'a damaged moongate'.

I believe Siege can rebuild the town. The moongate is another matter though.

I could have sworn that Kelmo and Draconni came to an understanding that if the city would not be rebuilt it the spawn wasn't pushed back. It was really about the guard zone for the faction base... but maybe I am wrong.

I wouldn't rely on my memory 100% either, I could be wrong too. I guess we'll wait and see.
