Hey guys old school player here.

I just came back and can not figure out how to resize the play screen area. I thought there use to me a little gem in the lower right corner you could drag but it is not there. Any help would be great.
I am playing on a 24" monitor and running in windows mode I have tryed full screen and that looks like crap and does not work, In windows mode I have about 5"x5" play screen with the rest being black and I can drag my paperdoll and backpack out to the black areas just like I use to back in the day but I can not drag the play window any bigger tho it will let me drag it around the screen.

Please Help I love this old game and kind of miss it but I can not play it in such a small window.

in 2d best you can do is in options, there you can increase the game window size. You will still have the black outer area, but overall that is the best you have in 2d. For me that has been good enough as I hate the KR version so bad I deleted it a long time ago and have no plans on reloading it on our PC ever again.

this is my game window

Yes, in 2D the largest play area is 800x600 or something along those lines I think. I recently bought a widescreen monitor and have a similar issue. Big thick black lines on either side of my play window, and smaller ones around the top and bottom edges. I've just resigned myself to using the black area for gumps. It works great on my crafter, I can have his regular pack, his recycle bag, his sell bag, his tool box, the map and his paper doll all opened up at the same time, and none of it overlaps into the play area anymore.

what they said :)
i play 2d also, and when i upgraded to a wide screen monitor i went into options and selected the largest setting for both things (can't remember what they're called). it took me about a week of playing before my game window stopped looking tiny to me in a sea of black. now i'm totally used to it and i enjoy having the black areas to have all kinds of things open and displayed etc. it's nice to have the map always open for instance - i'm liking that.
be nice if SA will allow an adjustment to game size window to accomodate the larger monitors that many people have.

For 2D, you can also change your monitor resolution, but on the widescreen you probably have limited choices, and LCD's look really fuzzy at certain resolutions. I imagine this will be fixed for the new 2D SA client.

If you load KR, you have a much wider selection and even flexible screen sizing to get up to about 4:3 max of the widescreen, leaving a couple inches of black to put hotbars, backpack and chat window.

You CAN enable the option to play fullscreen in 2D, but it leaves black bars on each side that are unusable.

Here's a full screen view of KR on a 22" monitor
