I hope that the game developers will read this.
I've been grandmaster fisher for a long time, and I was very much looking forward to the fishing enhancements coming with the HIGH SEAS booster. I've been fishing ever since its release. There's been a lot of discussion about fishing on these boards, maybe we should put them into one thread.
Here's my feedback (positive things first):
Thanks for reading this!
Edit: I find the fish weight ok; the hull of my boat can hold 16,000 stones.

Here's my feedback (positive things first):
- The new fish types are fantastic and well done.
- The new feature of crab and lobster fishing is great.
- The new ships look really really great and work perfectly!
- I noticed that an area cannot be fished empty anymore. Is this intended? I can fish at the same spot forever.
- Crab and lobster fishing is tedious because the traps disappear too often. The tediousness is somewhat reducet due to the facts that spots cannot be fished empty anymore.
- The fishing quests are good, but due to above issue I hate it when I get a lobster/crab quest. It is demotivating having to work for 3 hours in order to get a book as a reward!
- It seems that if you get a quest, the chance of fishing or catching requested creature is reduced.
- Make lobster traps craftable by a carpenter.
- The lack of fishing powerscrolls is not comprehensible. Even after a couple of dozend fishing quests I got not even a 105 powerscroll. I think fishing powerscrolls should come much more easily. It is easier to get a 110 magery or swords scroll, or a 120 imbuing scroll, than it is to get a 105 fishing scroll. Even after the chances of getting one have been increased. Is this intended? Fishing is not a powerful skill which would be subject to balancing issues! I don't want to be legendary fisherman in a day, but at least I'd like to have the chance to improve my skill while doing all those long-winded quests.
- I love the new ships! Can you consider publishing a fisherboat as a new ship type? Smaller than Tokuno Ships so we can access the fishmonger docks more easily. 1 or 2 cannons would suffice. Large hold (20,000 stones). Maybe with a fishing net feature that we can throw out into the water.
- Consider to reduce the amount of fished-up boots the higher your fishing skill gets. (I love the idea in general, but there are too many of those boots!)
- Introduce better rewards for legendary fishermen. The current trophies and rare fish are not really triggering our enthusiasm. Maybe some new deco items, or add-ons to ships (like a fishing-net mountable to a cannon slot that would fish up 2 items at the same time), something like that.
