Request for KR Bug Fixes

I have recently been experimenting with KR on a new account and there are a few issues that I'd like to see addressed. Due to some of these issues it's impossible for me to play KR on my main accounts so really can't progress much beyond experimenting:

• Dropping Items on the Ground - I have a hard time removing things from my pack and trying to place them on the ground. This has killed me more than once while overweight.
• Feeding pets - I can't seem to drop food on my pets like I can in 2d (could be me but....)
• Trading items with other players - have difficult time trying to initiate a trade or trying to add something to the trade window.
• Scrolling down on some of the menus - there are some menus I can scroll down and some I can't (the 1st panel on the setup window is one that I can't).
• Pet animation - while this one isn't a "show stopper", it's very annoying that dragons keep flapping there wings while they are stationary. I turned off animation but that leaves them with their wings expanded and this takes up a lot of screen (specially when there are several on your screen)
• Bandages in your action bar after visiting the bank. I removed 200 out of the 400 bandages I had in my pack and then added them to the macro bar only to see all 400 show up in the bar. I then tried to use my bandage macro and I kept getting "you can not reach that" messages which caused my death. I tried several ways to fix it without any success.

Overall I do like most of the graphics, I love the action bar and macro system and would like to spend most of my UO experience playing in KR, but some of the above issues are keeping me from doing so. Any suggestions that could resolve these issues would be appreciated.

The macro bar reads what is in your back pack. That way you don't have to reload the bar. As you pick up and throw things into your pack, they are automatically added to the bar. Reset your macro, and it should be fine.

1. Dropping items on the ground/turning items in to an NPC: It works 100% of the time, but you have to do one extra move. Move the item to a portion of Blackspace and let go of the mouse button to "sticky" the item to the cursor. Then click on the spot/NPC you wish to drop the item. Not a fix, but a workaround.

2. Feeding pets: Same answer as #1

3. Same as #1

4. Mouse wheel will scroll down (as long as the cursor is over the window). If I remember correctly Bitter Black has incorporated a scroll bar fix for a few menus (it has to do with transparent menu elements overlapping the scroll bar).

5. This needs to be fixed.

6. Items in the bank on the hot bars are an issue, especially bandages. If you have a house, then keep them there for now instead of the bank.

Alternatively:

As a habit, if I now need to place anything precisely, I first quickly zoom in with the scroll wheel. The items being dragged don't change size, but the tiles/pets/characters get 4-5x bigger, making it easier to drop.

This works especially well in your home, changing decor.

As for bandages, I've just been forced to buy more, or keep my enhanced bandages at home. BTW, this goes for any stackable in your bank, not just bandages.


Has anyone figured out fix the hotkey for character paperdoll or backpack? I'm unable to use any keybinding to open them, but whatever I set *will* close them.

To be honest, I always use a mouse click to open paperdoll or inventory (though my inventory STAYS open after I open it initially usually).

Right now I'm just glad that crossing server lines DOESN'T close my backpack needlessly the way it did in 2d/3d pre-KR.

Dermott thanks for the work arounds, I'll give them a try. The only work around you mentioned that I can't try is the Mouse Wheel, since I use an IBM Laptop which has the "Trackpoint" instead of a mouse. I suppose I could attach a mouse to the laptop for getting to those menus, but I'm "Mouse Impaired" since I've been using "Trackpoint" technology for over 12 years now and never use a mouse...

I've been thinking about the "bandages in the bank" issue and it dawned on me that your bank box is always traveling with you, even though you can't access it. I think this is why they show in your action bars.
