Replica items, why some of them cost millions ?

There is something I really do not understand about the [Replica] Items, the fact that some of them still are up for sale (and I guess bought...) for quite a few millions....

Now, considered that even if they can be repaired they cannot be POFed (powder of fortifying applied on them) and come with a merre 150/150 durability, their life expectancy is quite limited if used for fights. So, how come there is some players willing to spend several millions on them ?

In the years since they have come out I have never replaced one of the replica items since first use. The only one I have come close to having to trade out is a pair of boots on a sampire that gets beat down alot but even those are now 50/50 and should last another year if I played alot. Really the only ones that sell and get used alot are boots and the sash, I can't think of anything else.

Well, the Gladiator's collar which is a piece subjct to quite a lot of wear and tear in a fight, I see it selling easy around 10 millions if not more..... Now, for a 150/150 durability item that gets beaten badly in fights I wonder how many fights it can last....

Perhaps [Replica] items are not really meant for dexers although quite several among them would do well for a dexer.... but of course in a close fight they get worn out more badly and more fastly so, I think the durability of [Replica] items should differ depending whether they are meant for ranged or for close combat as their lasting will clearly be different...

I have one on a macer who I have pvp'd with for years and is my prefered go to char(forgot about that item) for fighing. I have repaired it twice in that time. I think you are wanting to use them for PvM which, IMO, is not really the best place if you want to avoid the eventual loss of the item. For the most part you can make or find better stuff anyways, the GG worked well in the suit which I built before reforging and is still above averge today.

Yes, I was thinking about PvM, clearly in PvP there is not much wear and tear as in PvM....

So, I guess then that [Replicas] for dexers are mainly meant for PvP and not for PvM as their selling value just make them meaningless for PvM, IMHO.

Because, as an example, I can put the Gladiator's collar on my sampire and do nothing but farm Dread and Navery. I guarantee you that by the time that piece wears out, I will have gotten enough Crimmy's and or Tangles to more than offset the cost. On a mage, those pieces last a lllooonnnggg time.

Not sure I understand....

On ranged (a Mage...), I get it that the Gladiator's collar would last long but on a dexing Sampire that fights toe to toe ??

I do not get how a Sampire fighting toe to toe against Dread or Navrey would have the collar last long.....

He's saying by the time it wears out he could farm enough arties to more than recoup his gold from buying the collar.
