Does Repel reduce incoming damage? Does Searing Wounds work well? or would you prefer Grasping Claw over either of the other two?

I CAN'T DECIDE ! Help me, my brain is locked up, and Ctrl Alt Del did not do anything useful

Neither one of those abilities are very good. Grasping claw is pretty good if the pet does 100% physical damage. What animal is this for and how is it going to be used?

Searing wounds will kill the Shadow elemental so you will the life of the party if others are using it for skilling.

That's right, I forgot about that, searing wounds ability can damage/kill shadow ore elementals which a lot of people skill their pets on. Not good.

Repel does reduce incoming damage when active. Searing Wounds is mostly useless in my opinion. Graping Claw can be good, but it depends on the pet and what you are fighting.

We have a writeup on Special Abilities on our website if you want to read more about them: Foundations: Pet Ability Breakdown | uo-cah.com -- it doesn't have Special Moves or AoE yet as I haven't had the time, but special moves are the same as the player weapon moves.

Tested in underworld many times. Went today with each to get numbers.

Goo damage seems to have a 4x4 area and it chooses 1 or 2 victims in the area and does 30 to 42 damage to those slugs. Does 60+ damage to slimes. The amount of 4 x 4 areas varies with each attack and they generate over a period of time.

The other two do damage to each individual target in a large area at the same time:

Earth has the same huge area as Goo. Does 8 damage to each slug 10 to each slime.
Energy has a smaller area (just the slug room) 8 damage to each slug 10 to each slime.

Thats why we chose Goo from the beginning. More damage to the individual caught in the damage area.

They may do the same damage overall but if you have a full 10 x 10 area Goo does more damage to fewer targets.

But in a 10 x 10 area you never have 100 targets in that area so Goo ends up doing more damage overall.

The damage is not based on how many targets are in the area. So if one target is in the Goo area it gets 35 damage. If one target is in the others area they get 8 damage.

Has anyone put Inferno on a fire based pet before? Seems like it could be good...although most fire based pets already have dragon breath so that may not even be possible.

Of course I have.

It does sound good. I tested it a long time ago at the artic ogre lord that has neg fire resist and you could not tell when it did damage. The devs looked at it. It still sux. Inferno drops the fire resist to 75% of normal and stacks with discord and RC. Does not last long.

Raging breath was made better. It is better and you can see the damage. Very small damage that you see in a flame. Like 8 damage ticks per second.... for 5 or 10 ticks maybe. A normal attack does way more damage over that time.

Each color of my Cus have different builds. None have the two asked about in this thread. I only put things on that did at least noticeable damage. I could not resist Inferno on a Red dog.

This one has 115 scrolls with points for 120s if anyone wants to buy it. I made it to test the Raging Breath.

I put inferno on my magery mastery phoenix the phoenix dumps a lot of its mana in constant flamestrikes and it does 50% fire 50% physical. Its seemed nice for the Krampus I have also used it on lady mel with fair success.

I tried repel on a Bake Kitsune that I had for years before the taming revamp. The pet was trained up but it took a lot of damage so I figured that would help it do damage. Kinda like reflect phy on armor. It was horrible.

I had another Bake. I figured Life Leech would be good on it. Also a mistake. It just died and did no damage.

I made a thread about the results a looooong time ago.

My 2 Bakes turned 3 slot at pub 97. They were not like the other Pre Patch ones which are 2 slot. I had them for years because I liked the sounds they made. I released the pitiful things soon after.

Looking over the list I made a pet with each ability that is not natural. Except for sticky skin.

I have a Cu with AI and Tail Swipe... He did not make the build list. But I saw him on my Gardner with taming to hold pets.
