only reason i voted yes is cause of the mess.. i love Tazar village and hate to see it go. But either way its in trouble.. another gm with his knickers in a bunch and ban him again or worse delete stuff like on legends.. soooo

That makes no sense what-so-ever. Wouldn't it just be smarter to pause any bannings via decoration that didn't break the ToS involving housings?

WELL, now GMs delete stuff and put you jail. Read Omnius post. 2nd time he's busted over this problem.
There is no logic to what is happening so you cant use logic to find solution.

You failed to understand the argument. Your argument is
"They don't know what to do with it, so lets take dev time to delete them." When it would be much simpler and less time for the Gms just to be told "Don't screw with goza mats."
You see the logic is that, you want, let's say it takes... an hour to remove goza mats, where as it would take roughly 5 minutes to say "just don't bother with housing stuff for a while."
That's like saying "Cops are pulling you over for having the wrong type of gas because they don't know what to do about gas so I'm just going to sell my car."
Think people. Hell, an even easier solution is to you not to screw with goza mats, much simplier, don't have to talk to Gms or Devs about it. You could just use them as mats. Wow. using something for it's intended purpose, who'd a thunk it?
I really wonder if people just have this wall of ideas that make no sense and just throw darts at them and then make a post about it.
I understand what your saying but if you been following the goza mess then you know that didnt seem to work.
We were told that the CS would be told not to mess with goza until the rules were clearly defined.
Then today Omnius get bust AGAIN. A GM wasted who knows the minutes or hours removing all "illegal" stuff.
So we are now at a reall impass if you ask me..
In reguards of Omnius Cal said he was going to look into the Issue. Might be a over zellous GM who has not been told to hold off or Cal was overruled and GMs are in full out ban mode. Ether way goza's today on the chopping block next they ban for coloring artifacts... EA has to set down a SET of rules on this that we all can read. Personaly its begining to feel like they are making them up as how they feel in the morning!

I've seen a lot of creative things done with gozas, and imo the good here outweighs the bad.

From what I understand, the goza's are not the problem - It is certain things that are done with them, like rubble (placed above normal height that does not "hide" until you step onto the house) vendors above normal height, and other things that can disrupt the owner of the house behind - or that would disrupt customers of the house behind.
I did not get to see Omnius design so I can not comment on it - it may well have been a untrained GM acting on old information, but maybe not. Cal's looking into it and I am confident he'll handle it right - but I also believe that Cal will not - and should not come here to tell us the outcome on a specific case. Should Omnius choose to, that's great.
I do hope Cal is able to better define the rules for us and the GM's soon. I'd hate to be the one trying to specifically define right vs. wrong here - it can be done, but writing it out clearly may be a royal pain.

Good or bad is relative .They are one of the best deco tools we have. They do not hinder physical play. They do not stop movement in game.If Goza mats bother neighbors because they cause extended house ,what about people whose 4th floor overhangs walkways in Luna. Using that argument you need to make every house in Luna that overhangs have only 2 floors

I agree, but 1 idiot can spoil it for everyone, so an argument could be made that maybe they should be removed. that's why I made the poll.
true, and what about houses that are built so ugly and big they cover up half the neighbor's plot
I think the problem is really that
#1 neighbors are not communicating with each other
#2 people are griefing each other
maybe all houses should have a vote system built in where players can place a vote to have a house reviewed by a GM, then the GM can decide if a house violates any rules or is horrendous and then the GM can clear the plot and have everything go to moving crate.
this would be good for houses that have been sitting for 5 years ruining neighborhoods in Luna w/ 4 stories and the owner is never seen. he may be paying for the account (or maybe not, remember there are bugged houses) but we should not have to look at the monstrosity.

Agreed. And the poll is also missing the "HELL NO!" option. Gozas were somewhat nerfed for a very short time... not too long ago. There were a lot of very unhappy folks on the boards at that time.
I voted no eventhough I'm not into house deco and I once bought a keep with black goza mat floors and the first thing I did was remove them and throw them in the trashcan. They have there uses for those that like to decorate houses, and if the problem is that they block peoples house signs and vendors because they don't become transparent when circle of transparency is on then maybe the devs could change to programming to make them transparent. Otherwise it isn't that hard to find a house that has goza mat deco, place a house of any size so that either a vendor or the house sign is partially blocked and page a gm...just to be an ahole and grief people.
Vote no, but it seen that some of my Mat have vanish from my keep. At server up this morning all the gaza on the west side was gone. Not sure if the clean up have started.
You guys could just stop screwing around with Goza mats until this stuff is done, instead of taking time to delete them, then plan to re-add them. You really don't understand what you're asking do you?
They just need to remove the ability to make floors higher than intended by the design tool. No one, not Tazar nor anyone else, is in need of a 4-story, 5-story, 6-story nightmare. If you can't do it with your existing 3-floors and a roof plot, it doesn't need to be done.
But ... I want a deluxe apartment in the sky eye eye. I kinda dig tall buildings in UO, not sure why.

It's kind of sad that the "new" rules were implemented in this manner to begin with. Why there was not a post stating that they had decided that gozas should not be used in a certain manner, is beyond me.
I took down my deco house completely in fear that there may be other changes in rules that are not published to the public before the axe is dropped on an account.
I love decorating in UO. It has always been one of the best parts of the game for me, but it is certainly not worth losing an 11 year account over.
