Are you aware that many ppl with bulletin board do not change the security status to 'anyone'. Hard to use when no can use.

All before the advent of the global chat. With global chat... place and location matter little when it comes to communication. No need for Inns and Taverns as places for people to gather and chat. Little need for bulletin boards either.
The global chat function is one feature I am disappointed to see. I disliked global chat in other games. It takes away from the ambiance of the world and makes RP very limited at best.

Valid point. Though I don't know why one would hang a message board out front if one did not want messages. I suppose it could be used to simply post an owners note.
I suspect that most ppl with billing board set the security setting to 'friends'. Ppl create their own click as a group to talk to. Icq messages are common. Vent is more likely for guilds. As for taverns, owners there of should stage events which will probably be not for everyone. I do visit public sites and find bill boards inside beyond doors which do not open for me. And, there is the mail box problem.
Does anyone really talk in an encounter? It is safer to use General chat.

I have in most of my houses and is set to anyone. 4 of my houses are public too, so the board can be accessed.

You clearly have me confused with someone else.
There has been tamers in pvp since the begining so no thats not something anyone remembers. i remember when tamers used to have 5 WW or 5 dragons to control. But i also know tamers can be killed easier then most templates.
We all know you run with large enough numbers normally you shouldnt ever have an issue with tamers.
What is Global Chat and how is it different from General Chat?
I assume it´s the same thing.
