I took it off yesterday after waiting 6 days for pickup. I'm not sure if the money is deducted when the auction ends or when it is picked up, but there were three bidders b, s, and I I believe. I don't remember who won it.

I seem to remember that the winner gets an ingame notification...I might be wrong though...

Yes if you won an auction, when you log in you get a little window in the top of the screen with a message... Or at least in CC it works in this way
