Refresh condemned house by re-activating account?

Just what the title says. I closed an account several months back and the house with that account has just recently become condemned. I thought if I re-open the account the condemned status would go away. So..I re-opened the account and its still slightly worn. Does it take a little time for it to work, or am I going to have to transfer this house somehow?

Thanks,

I had to do the same thing to one of my accts
because of illness at home and finances.

When the server refreshed the next day my house
refreshed with it. I hope yours does as well.

I had this dilemma a while back and the advice I was given was to give it some time. It could take up to 24 hours for the game to react I was told. I did wait and it worked... :)

So, just open a door in the house to refresh it and then wait and see...

Thanks for quick replies. I won't be able to log on for the next few days, but I feel better knowing it should be refreshed when I do get back on. =)

Worked for me on the weekend and mine was greatly worn.... cutting it MUCH finer than I would have liked.

For you guys with the first-hand experience, how long would you say it would take for you to stop paying before the house starts to show sign of decline?

Say Ive been paying on the 1st of every month. If I were to stop payment for, say, 1st January, how long till house becomes "slightly worn"?

This has apparently changed. I reactivated an account yesterday on the 90th day. It had not yet entered any decay state. Today I logged in and it is slightly worn, which didn't totally surprise me because I knew it was due, and I know it takes 24 hours to work its way through the system. I didn't think to note the exact time I reactivated, but I would guess that it's been just shy of 24 hours.

According to the in-game help (codex), it says the house owner merely needs to log in and open the door. I knew this was outdated, but I did it anyway just to say I did. Not surprisingly, it didn't work.

Eventually I paged a GM. The GM was very nice but said that once the house enters a decay state, it will fall no matter what, even if the account is reactivated. He/she offered me a refresh as a one-time exception (so y'all don't go looking for my idoc, lol!)

As an update: While I'm still grateful to the GM for being sympathetic and helping me out, it turns out that asking for his/her help may have been unnecessary; the policy hasn't changed, and the GM was mistaken on the information. Sometimes it just takes a little more than the usual 24 hours, and I panicked. I guess that's what I get for trying to cut it so close!

It works just as they are stating.
The only time this will not work is if the said house is "In danger of Collapsing" as there is no other stage after that before it falls.
