Reflect Physical Damage... Is it worth it?

I am designing an armor suit for my pvm warrior (his first decent suit !!). I have a couple of empty slots and I was wondering whether rpd is useful at all to have. I could get it up to 30 using these two slots. I really can't afford to get this wrong so I'd appreciate some comments about where the extra slot should go. Maybe luck would be an alternative. So far the armor is OK in terms of si, lmc, mi, hpi, dci, hci and di so I don't want to add any more to those mods. I also don't have any mr and the armor is non-medable but I reckon that's not really needed since I'm going to be leeching mana...

Most folks seem to be very down/harsh on rpd. To me it seems like an untapped resource and yet another way to boost your sampire to new killing heights. Frankly I'd build a cheap imbued 70s suit with rpd on each piece and evaluate its value to you.

If you don't have the skills/resources, do it on TC1

Every time I go to build a RPD suit, I end up changing it last minute.

I was just building a protection/mystic PvP mage, and since I had med and focus on the build, I was going to exclude MR on the pieces for RPD. I changed my mind at the last minute and put MR on every piece.

Seems there is always a mod that would be better than RPD.

It's *very* good for mule chars who mine or lumberjack.

Monsters basically kill themselves... of course I help them along with my Mage Weapon axe ;)

I may make up a suit just to play around... max reflect + blood oath = very upset dead opponent

In PvM I would say it is useless, most things have split damage types anyway.

In PvP it is effective if you have 100, but again you can get around it by having 100% elemental weapons or using split damage type quivers.

What if someone earthquakes or bombards? both are physical damage. Does that get reflected, or spell damage only

Those do not reflect, but I'm not sure if that is intended or a flaw.

RPD does not stack with blood oath (at least not in PvP) tried it on my necro mage...was very sad:sad2:

I have a PvP dexxer with a 90+ rpd suit which is fun to play with but the issue I have with both my suit and building one is you really need to have the phys hit for 59 and every other resist hit for 61+ such that cons weapon has no effect on the build of your suit. This said if you can find the correct person to fight against and you don't use this char much so people forget it can be a fun set up.

My suit is all wood with hpr2 via bloodwood so I've 16+ hpr and 90+ rpd. Makes for a good time doing a solo raid and stuff.

Its great for hunting lesser hiryus. However, for an every day suit there are better mods.

Since your asking about pve, not pvp, yes RPD suits can be great for certain things. For single targets youll probably want other mods, but for situations where your killing groups of monsters its great (if they do physical damage of course)

For example, i have a RPD suit for my sampire, mainly for the Cavern of the Discarded rat spawn. I dont need the extra stats because the rats arent hard to kill, so when i run around and get 25 rats attacking me, between whirlwind, area effect damage, and RPD from my suit they go down alot faster than with just the weapon alone.

Personally, with the suit you described your making, i would add the extra weight to raise fire resist above 70 if you dont have 120 resist spells. Or just a tiny bit of mana regen for when you get hit with mana drain, or when rezing and waiting to get enough mana cast a chiv spell. Hpr never hurts. Dont go with luck its worthless. Or go with the 30 RPD, its really what you prefer.
