Reds....In Luna?

So while I was bored to tears farming fame this morning, I get an odd ICQ from a friend who asks when reds were allows into the Trammel facets. I tell him that they haven't been. He then tells me that three members of a guild are running around the Luna bank. They are all red. Several people paged on them.

Curious, I wander over to Luna stealthed. Eventually I notice a red named player running around my screen and manage to take screenshots. The guy ran through the bank and left via the moongate.

Sooo.... Unannounced change with the last publish or brazen exploiting?

One possibility is that they got the 5th count reported after they entered Luna.

They were going in and out of the moongate over a three hour span. One of them I have seen red in Fel before, so I know he didn't just take a count and manage to run around before being punted to Fel.

If it was a new change we would likely see more talk on this. While I'm all for a change like this it is likely a bug/exploit.

I wasn't there for the majority of their running through, but I do believe my friend said they tried calling guards and said all they did was spam the screen without whacking them.

I was too busy mashing my screenshot button to yell for guards

I have seen this before and it allways makes me laugh when i see people avoiding them! They may be red but they can't attack you in tram ruleset so stop stealthing and stop cowering they just look diffrent!

oh, sorry Poo, that forum's access list only has one member of Stratics staff on it - me. The rest of the list are Bioware staff.

Its not that they are red, I have a red. It's that they are exploiting, which is a bad thing in any game. UO doesn't need any more bad things.

I am sure they all ready know about the bug, its been on a public cheat site since 5/ 19 / 2012. I am surprised its not been used more often TBH

Some times its good to know how someone is exploiting and pass that info on the GM so he can see how there doing it and take action. Knowledge is power

Years ago, a little after Trammel was opened, a friend and his Counselor friend teleported his red to Trammel. That was stupid enough, and somehow my friend was able to attack people. It didn't take long before they got caught and perma-banned.

I don't know if that's the case here, but something is really rotten if they're presently red and able to come back. They're red when they come back through the moongate, right? Not going back, burning a forged pardon, taking a new count, then coming back to play a hoax?

When u go to tram blue and you get your 5th count you are instantly banished to chaos shrine in fel so that wouldn't be the case

I know this isnt the way these guys are doing it, but if you are dragging an object when person reports you for 5th murder it could stop you from teleporting. Just saying

Take power scrolls, and double resources and give it to tram. In fact, get rid of fel altogether and general chat will be free of 98% of the racist and misogynistic trash.

Well now that you can insure everything these days and even get bless deeds now, i think there is no need for tram. Get rid of tram and loose 100% of the whiners. Its not like you lose your stuff anymore if you die in fel.

give it time my friend..they gave the candy asses tram..pretty soon they will take fel away due to concentrating more on the RP aspect of the game lmao!!

Really? The majority of UO players enjoy the fel playstyle you just wont find them on EA shards because EA has demolished this once great game.
I know to people that cant grasp basic game mechanics having to face an something that uses tactics and adapts sucks but to many people trying to deal 1000000 dmg to a mob that does the same thing over and over and over to get the same item everyone else has sucks.

The split took place because the devs were to incompetent do develop a new landmass with meaningful places to explore so they took the easy way out. They had already instituted plenty of punishment for being red but some people just wanted "easy mode". They wanted to just say "all kill" with 10 white wyrms and farm balrons.
Something like Ilsh should have been introduced as a no pvp area so people could train skills and gather resources but without the ability to recall. This would allow people to train and hone there chars but that wouldnt be easy enough

There wasn't time to build a new world, and test it and get it all ready, the game was haemoraging players at too fast a rate. They had to act, and act very quickly. They took the only option they could in the time they had.
It's easy to criticise with hindsight.
Also, this is a game with monsters. Lots of players wanted to fight those monsters, many did not want to fight other players. It might be 'fun' to team up and 'gank' any single player daring to set foot out of town, but I assure you, it's no fun at all being that player.

ah well, there you have me. I didn't play before trammel, so I can only go on what has been said many times before.
I wouldn't have played the pvp game. Making someone else miserable or angry is not my idea of fun.

I played from launch to 2001 and played both a PVP character and non PVP. Have to say there was very little more exciting then being a red and worrying about stat loss if you died. Not easy by any means. Also there used to be guild wars in town if you were rival guilds etc, it was really like how this time in history probably was. Not safe.

I came back about 6 months ago and play only PVM mainly due to the time it takes to develop a good character. From what I have seen PVP sucks now not because of Tram/Fel but becuase there is no "risk" for reds and the majority would prefer to wait until you are into the 3 rd level of a champ spawn with half your life to attack. Lots of skill and fun there.

The problem was that the blues would not work together to kill the reds. I remember being at the bone wall with around 30 other blues and 4 reds came in and killed everyone. Not cause they were better, but because the blues would not attack them or would not work together to kill one person at a time.

Blues had a severe lack of team work while the reds worked well as a team.

I see Dark fall is still up and running and it has similar rule to the original UO and I think it’s a bit more harsher TBH. Ok its not got a million subs but they didn’t want a million subs, they know it was a neesh market. Hat off to them for sticking it out.

Blues didn’t want to work together that was the long and short of. If they had life would have been much more harsh for the reds/PvPers.

So they took the easy route whine, whine & whine some more to get the game changed into what it is today.
