Red Soulstone advice...

Hi all,

I've recently re-entered UO after a 4-5 year hiatus, so I'm trying to catch up on all that I missed.

Now, I get the basic jist of soulstones, but can I use one to transfer skills across shards? I have characters on Atlantic and a character on Siege. Is there a way for me to transfer skills from an Atl character to my Siege one?

It's been driving me nuts. Thanks for any help.

PS...has usage gone way down? I've yet to explore these new ninja/samurai lands, yet Britain's bank marketplace was surprisingly dead! I remember my computer hitting a lag wall whenever I walked into that hellish vendor pileup...

I don't think you can transfer skills to Siege.

Most vendors are located in and around Luna in Malas. Do need to keep eyes open there. Some vendors are very pricy!

No sir. You can not transfer anything to Siege. If you come to Siege and post, you might be pleasantly surprised. There are plenty of folks there willing and wanting to help you get started up.

Kelmo ... is the NEW guild still in action? That is/was one heck of a crew as I understand it.

Yes. The NEW guild is still very active and at times among the top ten guilds on Siege.

NEW TO SIEGE?
By Cleopatra

If you are new to Siege and want to join NEW for a month, icq me at 9-626-593, pm me here, or, leave a message on our board http://www.siegeperilous.net/new/ and I will help you get started on our shard.

When registering with NEW board (above link) Do NOT wait for an email granting you access. Access will be authorised within a few hours of your application allowing you to log in.

It's a good idea to have UOAM downloaded before I add you to the NEW guild. You can download free at www.uoam.net.

Regular Helpers of NEW:

Shalimar (Elaine 9-626-593) best for Euro/UK timezones
Obeta (Obeta 79-122-040) best for US timezones
Marissa (Bruin 4-842-047) best for US timezones
Natalia (Hoffs 193-165-018) best for Euro/UK timezones
Red Rose (Freja 7869331) best for Euro timezones

If you are new to Siege, want to join NEW and don't have icq, don't worry. Just ask anyone you meet and they should be able to contact one of us for you, most Siege players know of us.
You are likely to meet someone in Luna faster than anywhere else, so go there and ask someone to get in touch with NEW for you if you want to join.

Look at the Lizardman statue by the bridge south-southwest of West Britain bank.

That invasion drove most shard's banksitters to Luna, and they never went back to Britain.

Despite loving the idea of a one-character-only shard, the above is the primary reason I have never been able to stomach making one. I mean I know what I would do... I would wind up maybe putting in a few hours a week and spending most of that time AFK or alternating skills or checking every 20 min and trying to get a gain. I do grind out my skills in long sittings on normal shards, not because I am in a "hurry", but because I consider it a chore I want to get out of the way so I can go have fun with other players without "sorry... I can't cure poison yet" or "sorry... I can't craft that yet."

I think Siege was a terrific idea.... I just think the skillgain system is tedious enough over 80 in normal rulesets. The Siege limitations make it completely discouraging unless you are hellbent on going to Siege and playing primarily and only there for good. Then it is worth your time.

Please note that the revised RoT that I posted is much friendlier and is accurate. *nods*
