After a hard fought battle, Miles is rescued by a party of daring members of the Guard after defeating a top adjutant of the new Juka Overlord and eliminating several other void ritualists.

Ter Mur Master Scholar Crexus, in coordination with the Royal Court, assigns the Guard to retrieve several lost and forbidden tomes, including volumes from the infamous "Red Scripture", a lengthy treatise on blood rituals and shadow magic. Using the crucial teachings, however dark, from the Red Scripture (and an accompanying gargoyle tome), Scholar Crexus is able to formulate a mass ritual that would later be called the "Banishing".

More Shadow Crystal Formations have begun to activate, terrorizing the forests and roads of Britannia! Scholar Crexus and the Royal Mages are weeks away from final preparations for the Banishing and Investigator Brinn is bedridden from his previous injuries. Despite these setbacks and facing overwhelming opposition, the Guard are swift in their justice and the crystals are destroyed in short order.

[Global] Mysterious Crystal Discovered!
Queen Dawn calls together the citizens of Britain and the Guard to Castle British to witness a momentous discovery. Right underneath the collective noses of the Royal Court, and indeed, all of Britannia, a crystal, believed to be left behind by the powerful and mysterious Nystul, is discovered! However until is authenticity can be confirmed, it remains under the vigilant eye of the Queen's Royal Guard. Such a discovery is likely not to go unnoticed by anyone...

Seeing victory against the Void ever closer, Scholar Crexus announces final preparations for the Banishing and assigns the Guard to respond to sightings of Void manifestations along the roads and surrounding the moongates of several major cities. The Guard would trace the source to a pair of void crystal formations newly emerged in the Moonglow graveyard, feeding off of the dark energy there. The battle was long and arduous but the Guard prevailed and the Void was silenced once again.

All preparations complete, the Guard, led by a recovered Miles Brinn, march on Despise to protect the Royal Mages as they conduct the final stages of the Banishing ritual. The void manifested in seemingly endless number as what started as a defensive effort becomes a full scale battle involving the full strength of the Guard and their allies.
However during the thickest of the fighting, a group of dissidents betrayed Miles and the Queen, assaulting and murdering the remaining Royal Mages as they uttered the final incantations of the Banishing. With the mages dead the presence of the Void reasserted itself and the Guard slowly withdrew, unable to finish the war proper this time.
