It's true; Fel shouldn't have to be contained to one thread.

One of the biggest problems we have had with so many of the threads started here about PvP events, is that many here do not understand how the board works, and get angry because their post was removed, and so begins the cycle.

When someone begins a thread such as SixUnder did, I really don't have a problem with it, although a picture intensive warning is always a good thing to add. It becomes the following posts that become the issue. Many times most never see the offending post that is removed, and often there are several. If there are replies to the offending post, then once that post is removed so are any responses and responses to those responses. It comes down to being careful about which post you respond to.

If a post for example, is accusing a guild/individual of hacking/cheating or just plain being rude and instigating my advice would be to respond to the first post, assuming of course it's not an offending post. Trash talk is one thing; it’s just a part of PvP. I understand that. Accusations and plain out and out disrespect are a whole other ballgame. Many of the posts that get removed many times have nothing per se wrong with them other than the fact that they responded to an offending post.

Using the threaded option is a big help when dealing with posts you are uncertain about. Even in flat you can see who you are responding to It's not just one long thread.

IE in threaded mode would look something like this

Username A Thread
Username B responds to A fine
Username C responds to A makes accusations or trolls
Username D RTL fine
Username E responds to D fine
Username G responds to D makes more accusations
Username H responds to G fine
Username F responds to A fine
Username J responds to F

And it could go on and on. So what would happen is every post responding to the first offending message by Username C, everything marked in red will get removed. Because of the board functionality, over half of those posts were just fine, but because they mistakenly responded to offending posts they had to be removed. Most boards like this I’ve seen work in the same way, and so we back to my original suggestion. Play it safe and watch which post you are responding.

And a quick reminder of the most broken RoC rules here are as follows:

• Show respect at all times.

• Help build the Community.

The success of our forums depends upon the quality posts of our participants. We are proud of the success of our forums and give our thanks to those who have chosen to make our forums their out-of-game home. To ensure continued success we are posting these guidelines so that all participants of the Stratics forums understand what is considered unacceptable behavior in the forums and can result in a temporary suspension or a permanent ban.

• Personal attacks are prohibited. This specifically means any text/post that is blatantly attacking another person on or off the forum, especially in a personal way.

• Trolling is prohibited.Trolling is whenever someone is clearly, deliberately posting in a manner for the purpose of angering and/or insulting the other participants of the board. Trolling DOES NOT encourage further discussion in the long run, it only encourages personal attacks (if left unchecked).

• Publicly discussing actions by the moderators is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to: bans, warnings, locks, and moved threads. Any inquiries or comments on bans, warnings, or other moderator actions, are to be sent in private messages or via email. A moderator may choose to publicly inform the participants of a forum about bans and warnings if this is in the interest of the forum.

• Posting of pornography, racist or otherwise discriminating remarks, threats to cause physical or mental harm, extreme offensive language, material that breaks any law or otherwise totally unacceptable posts or links to pages that contain the aforementioned material may result in an immediate ban from the forums.
• Deliberately circumventing the censor filter is prohibited.

IE: double whopper with cheese A$$ you get the idea( now runs to get the mod soap out to wash my hands off )

If we could get some of the guild leaders to discuss some of this with their guilds refer them back to the post, perhaps we could unleash the hounds once again. I know nothing is going to be perfect and there will always be complaints. But communications not accusations of the mods actions are a far better way to deal with this problem. And no I’m not expecting everyone to act like freaking Mary Poppins or some group of ladies at a proper tea party. Quite on the contrary. I want you guys from Fel/PVP guilds/champ guilds and anyone else I forgot to feel welcome here on the Baja forum. Just a few simple rules to follow gang is all it will take.
Please please PLEASE!!! Police yourself appropriately as Biske and a few others have suggested. Pixie and I still will enforce the rules, but agree to be a bit more lenient.

So Ladies and Gents!! Please commence posting at will.

*watches closely and hopefully*
