You know...I think every single moderator here has at one time or another "laid down the law" on us regarding bumps...and most of the time it is after they have been a bit shell shocked by shenanigans or there is a mod transition for whatever reason.
Every single time, the bumps gradually went back to their old bumpy levels and we moved on to the old comfy patterns, but people seem to freak each time we hit the start of a new cycle.
Maybe you had to have grown up with multiple siblings but seriously, when there has been a ruckus and mom comes in waving the flyswatter around at the innocent as well as the guilty, those who may have been in the innocent category sure didn't start testing/questioning mom's decrees at that moment.

This can be discussed. (as it pertains to the Shard Community and not Stratics Staffing Issues)
First, the reason for that is that I have seen sooo very much bumping going on within only a few hours. If you cannot see very many Threads on the page, go into your options and under the Display section you can set it to show up to 99 Threads per page and up to 99 Posts per Thread. (Default is 20 I believe)
Doing this should then only require 1 bump per 24 hours. If we feel more is needed, as we are watching each day, we will be happy to loosen that restriction up.
However, I will not agree to go any less than 1 bump per 5 hours.
Discuss and please explain politely why you all feel a bigger lee-way is needed.

Generally, when posters of this forum become unhappy with things like over-zealous bumpers, we tend to speak up. I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary. It seems only those who's [whos, whose? I never can get that one right!] actions we cannot discuss here, are having difficulty with the bumpage. *shrugs*
It doesn't really bother me, as I tend to respond to a poster in the rare event that I have a sale or auction thread. I will say, however, that person who kept posting pics that said 'bump' over and over and kept changing the title of the original post, was VERY annoying!!

I have amended the bump post above to read 5 hours, while this is discussed. No less than 5 will be granted at this time.

5 hours seems absolutely reasonable if a limit is to be imposed. It was not my impression that there was any abuse of bumps though, like was mentioned before, here it seemed to be self regulating through feedback of other members.
But either way will do for me.

Thanks! I believe this needs to be more relaxed than other shards due to our deletion of a selling specific Siege forum.
It should not be too relaxed because good sales therads get naturally bumped by interested parties.
