Rats in Doom

Whenever I use my new trained tracking abilities to check for animals in Doom, near that closed room, in which the Inquisitors Resolution use to spawn on Atlantic a rat is detected. It must be a rat hole, since it is not visible by normal means.
The rat is there day and night it seems.
So what can be done against the rat plague, before the rats start to eat the precious artifact, as it seems to do since a half year?
Maybe send a few Ophidian generals, as they have proven well to detect hidden pests (or give their abilities to the devs - no, not the developers, but the devourers)?
Or make the air around certain areas similar health draining like in parts of the Destard Champ spawn area?
Or send a bunch of revenants on top of those criminals sitting there in Doom hidden all the time in the same place?
Or magically teleport them out to the deepest abyss without return?
More ideas how to fight the plagues in Doom?

Ninjitsu rat form, and can only be detceted by selecting monsters i believe maybe it is pets. More than likely they are useing a ITTP to alert them when teh item spawn, and usually when they have a animal watching the room, currently a bullfrog on great lakes, they have 1 or 2 people on the pads to go inside, with the others loged on on all 5 pads. I know the bullfrog watching teh great lakes room, uses the ITTP, as we were briefly in a guild together, and wanting to join his lamp team he said I MUST download a certina program and accept a copy of a file he claimed to write that woudl make me hear a sound when something spawned. I hope the developers choose to take care of these idiots who use these ITTP to hear the sounds, im sure they could disect the program and make it detectable on the server side to auto ban the jerks.

and a FYI, to get teh rat revealed and killed a devo following you adn you happening to invis on teh same spot that the rat is on then hideing when he reveals you, woudl let you know definately if he is useing a ITTP to hear the gloves spawn, and the devo spawns within 1 screen so it is technically not lureing

Ahh I forgot to really jack with them and see them, or mess their timer up to make them think that they missed them, take a pair and go inside and steal the lamp and just so happen to drop a pair on the floor to set off their timer and let them think that they missed the spawn, ofcourse you are hidden when you drop the pair to set off their timer.

The lamp room caters to people that have five accounts, making it an unfair advantage to others; I don’t think this was the way it was originally designed.

I have been stealing in the dungeon for approximately one year now and it’s messed up, for what I have experienced. I have gotten to talk with the people that have been stealing in the dungeon for very long time and they have agree with me, that the system would be on a fairer bases if the spawn was moved all around through-out the dungeons. This way people would have to look for the spawning items and not be camping 23:40/7 with their alarm programs. This would allow new players the opportunity to enjoy some rewards from the fruit of their labor for working the skill.
Another issue is, that a lot people transfer the higher items in from other shards, this has totally made me sick and disgusted with the item base on the Atlantic.

I have had about five instances where someone came into the area hidden when the claw or hammer was about to spawn and flood the data stream causing me to totally freeze up. Now I know this is illegal and if ea ever checked their server data in doom, they find ppl abusing their server and causing distress on players computers. What people do to others for an item is ridiculous.

Anyways, that just my two cents. :wall:

Also if you have GM spirit speak after they die you will see the ghost bowing every few mins and will do it until they notice (come back from afk) and send in a char to rez that char or you can page on them and wait 3 hours if a GM does show up they will have a alarm to alert them the rare creature called a Game Master is speaking to the ghost that has been dead for hours and a bowing every few mins. They will always says something like I was downstairs or just came back from the store or some other excuse and the GM goes on and they are right back a camping gloves 24/7. Most likely it is the same person camping the gloves on many shards and since the GM's are so clueless and could careless they get away with snagging the gloves time after time on many shards.

If the GM's would remove the cheaters this problem would not even exist anymore but when you have a game full of untrained and could careless GM's then this problem is gonna be full blown. You can page on the cheater, give the cheaters name, location, what there are a doing, pretty much do everything but take action on the cheaters but, yet GM's can not/will not do anything about them. I do not blame this problem on the cheaters, I blame it on the lack of action by the GM's over the years which has lead to a full blown infest of cheaters in UO.

It goes beyond the rats just camping outside the room with a sound when something spawns.
I have witnessed a couple of times in the last few months that they are able to log out inside the room again.
I had a characters at the puzzle while the wife was outside the room when the gloves had spawned and the same toon has popped up inside with out doing the puzzle. If it would have only happened once I would not have thought much of it and Ithought that I may have just missed it, but twice.
So like allot of other things in the game, the gloves can be scripted also.

As far as having to have 5 accounts to get inside the room, I think you are correct, that is not what was intended.
What I believe was intended was to have people work together to get the reward. I have help a few other get into the room for gloves, it just takes a little team work and to get rid of the cheaters.

There are lots of similar problems with cheats in UO.


None get addressed quickly. It takes months if not years of player ranting before the developers decide to fix things.


It's weird, I enjoy this game a lot. But this game has the worste bug fix/exploit fixes etc. of any game I have everyplayed X10.


They are just milking the cow folks.

I have a few thoughts on this issue. It seriously needs addressing that's for sure..... one "fix" for the gloves would be that once you go down there you have 10 min to do what it is your going to do and then the game boots you from the room right into the graveyard area with a couple of Lich Lords. That would certainly stop anyone from fiddling around in there for very long..... go down get your item and get out.

Would be a royal Pain to have to set up a script to go down there over and over and over again...... another nice help would be to keep things like Lich Lords and Devourers right there near-by so they can't just hang out hidden by the room with a guy all ready to go down once the gloves do spawn....

As well I VERY much like the idea of seriously randomizing not only WHERE items spawn in the dungeons but WHEN items spawn.... right now they are so predictable that ALL of the items worth more than 200gp are camped 24/7 by the same scripters. I know I play GL. I used to have a thief.... and I recall for awhile when Tokuno first began I could actually steal stuff that was worth while... now the only thing that ever spawns unattended are the baskets, fans and a few low level paintings... rock gardens and trivial junk like that. The fish, flowers, big sword displays, statues NEVER spawn unattended... It's the same with the new books that spawn for making the bookcase..... same scripters will steal it EVERYtime..... so trying to get one of those is a complete waste of time for anyone else..... This has been a pet peeve of mine for a great long while. What's the point of building a thief for the stuff if you can't ever get a chance to steal it? Nice waste of 120 skill points.

3 days later - the rat on Atlantic is still sitting in its nest - and did all the days and nights, whenever I tracked.

I mean how hard could it be to move the stuff around, just pick a few tiles and move them around through-out the hole dungeons and change the pattern and the time pattern.
PPL do know how to excel this stuff

i really thought this and the other posts on this thread were most well thought out and observed correctly. i'm only playing two years and never thought of making a thief as i just assumed that the more sought after items would most definately be camped. Just my NY cynicism i guess.

Put this on the list for fixing.

personally speaking at 20-30 million a pop i think inquisitor's should spawn random not just in doom but with a chance throughout all sosaria, in some of the more nastier inhabited places.
