Rate these bows please 8)

I used up a Fletching kit and made some bows. Can you rate them from 1 to 10 I can't decide whcih ones to use. If its any importance my suit has Mana Reg of 10 at moment.
ABC toon.

1) 37 DI, 25 SSI, HCI 23, Mana leach 37 Balanced.
2) 36 DI, 40 SSI, Mana Leech 24, Lower Defence 32.
3) 37 DI, 40 SSi, HCI 25, Stamina Leech 40, Mage Weapon -23.
4) 37 DI, 30 SSI, Life leech 30, Hit Lower Attack 42, Harm 32.

If you can rate them would really appreciate it thank you!

Why not just test them yourself? You should get some idea from that of which ones work for your archer.

If it's a fast bow like a Magical Shortbow or Repeating Crossbow than I'd say #1 would be the best. If it's something slower like a regular Bow on up to Heavy Crossbow than #2 would be the best. #'s 3 and 4 wouldn't be much use to a PvM Archer, but #4 would be halfway decent for PvP.

You'd really have to test them with your suite, as i have about 10 different bows/xbows i use all for different fights e.g long mana burning fights high mana leech or short fights want as much damage as poss got for extra hits on a fast wepon. Depends aswell on the type of bow as a fast bow some would be nice but a 5 second bow they'd be horrible!
For pvp again what bows are they for there specials, different ones against different people.

speed and high damage output are key.

HCI you can get from your armour/jewels, just like regens on your mana/HP/Stamina

conclusion:
IMHO SSI, HLD and hit spell is a must, no combination of these three in your assortment of bows = dump these

BTW - i assume these are crafted with ash already ?
if not, keep them to be imbued with what is missing.

While this may hold true for a PvP bow, it's not so for a PvM bow.

Leeches on bows are pointless, bows are too slow and leech too little. DI should be 50+ to make a real difference, 40 SSI is nice, but without any other mod combinations I'd dump all four.


To keep a bow for PvM I would require it to have
50+ DI, 40+ SSI, either near max HLD, hit fireball, harm or lightning, and preferably high velocity. HCI is also nice to help reach max, but can be replaced by other items.

Needless to say after spending 500000+ boards in heartwood over the years, getting only two heartwood kits, and not getting a single good bow, I'm not impressed...

This couldn't be more wrong. Any experienced PvM archer knows that Mana Leech is a must have for a bow. I don't know where you're getting the "too little" part, but when you've got something Honored and have EoO up, and most especially when you hit a Crititcal Strike, you're leeching a whole mess of mana. For example, when fighting Mel my heavy crossbow with Mana Leech keeps me at full mana for the entire fight strictly due to the amount of damage that I'm hitting for. This in turn means that I can continuously spend mana on Chiv & Bushido spells, along with specials. When using my regular crossbow in this type of circumstance I'll hit whatever I'm fighting with Mortal so they stay constantly under it's effects, thus killing any healing abilities they may have, which in turn shortens the fight.

Stamina Leech is just as useful as it helps you to conserve mana in not having to cast Divine Fury to keep at max swing speed.

u have too high of expectations for a heartwood kit and i bet you threw out bows that were worth 10m+

fireballs on a pvm bow is junk.. you go over cap and end up doing 20-30 dmg instead of 300+

if your leeching isnt working then you need to rework your skills.
my archer can leech as much as 20 mana back on one hit when i use my heavy xbow.

50 di on a bow is also worthless.. the di cap is 300 and if your setup is good you dont even need di on the bow..


sounds like your archer isnt setup for pvm.. maybe has archery as second skill?

my pvp only stealth archer does very little pvm dmg and would need all that to get by.. but then again, he has a balanced bow with 35 ssi 44 hld and 47 hit lightning and 40 di....

I agree with connor on this one that is one nice bow would fit my archer perfectly

I suspect it's a looted bow, which was enhanced. Can't craft stuff with that many mods. Someone is very lucky...



Eoo, Conc, max DI and lightning strike crit and I never once in my over 10 years of UO hit for over 150 damage, I'm not sure what the hell all you people are using when you claim 300+ on crits. Damages that high do not exist in my world.

So on a bow I get back single digit mana per hit, when the specials I used to get that much damage cost many times that.

In my world, leeches on bows are pointless, hit spell on the other hand isn't because since my damage output seems to be so ridiculously low, it actually adds a good 10% extra damage when it hits.

So, how is it that you people can get 300+ damage per hit, and leech your full ammount of mana back all the time? please do tell.
What mods does your armor have? what weapons, what jewels and what skills? I must be seriously missing something here...

FYI: I kept all my heartwood crafted, and enhanced loot bows, got two chests full. I will post them all on the Europa trade forum this weekend so you can all take a look. To me they are all junk, but if some of them are worth 10+ mill to you guys, you can have them for half that!

50+ di is pointless, DI is definitely needed, but having 50+ as a requirement is just pointless. Do you really want hit harm on a bow? Care to explain why?

its very easy to hit 300 on crits.. thats about max tho.
on the df i hit hit for 285, on those skel liches i hit one for 255.
on an artic ogre lord i hit one time for 305.. think that was the most dmg ive ever did in one hit.

Decent mods but without telling us what sort of bows they are and what your intended purpose is (pvp or pvm). You probably won't get the answers your looking for. I'm guessing pvp since your making a ABC but could be wrong.

The Bows are just Bows 8) Sorry I wasn't Clear. I like bows for the Bleed and also for big crits. I do lots PVM and defend myself in PVP. Thank you all for the imput been really helpful.

Is this bow even possible with runic? I mean unless I'm wrong, even Heartwood runic would only give 4 properties and with gm it give the DI property.... And yet on this bow it has 6 properties.

As for enhanced loot from monsters, I really doubt it is possible either since monster loot can have the max of 5 properties.

no its not.. the only possibility is if its crafted/enhanced with yew.
it will have 5 hci, 50 di and only 30 ssi.
