I've already sounded off so I'll spare the repeat. Curious to what everyone else's general impressions were.

"Edward" should be at the bottom of the list and everyone else moved up one place.

But.. but.. Edward sparkles in the sun!
...and that's the problem. He should be bursting into flames in the sun. I am a huge fan of traditional vampire lore, and Edward to me is a "limp fang" if you get my meaning.

I thought it was alright, but could have been more involved like the past years.

I wish I could vote in your poll, but to be honest with you, I have no idea who/what you're talking about. Although I've been playing a little bit here and there for the last month and I regularly check in here in U Hall and read the UO Herald, none of those names ring a bell with me as actually being UO characters that I've ever heard of at any time. I'm guessing one or two might be quest NPCs related to that ridiculous Bane Chosen "event" or whatever it is that I gave up on months ago and I'm too lazy to go read the publish notes again to confirm that. However, the rest are a mystery.

Care to provide more info, i.e., are these characters in EM events or what?? Or is this just another joke that flew right over my head?

Worst "Halloween" event ever. And thats saying alot seeing what we got last year. The years before were great, challenging, good story lines, able to be done by everyone. The loyalty rating for the new quest is bs. Only a really bored shutin would farm that much loyalty. The rewards for the hounds are pretty useless, and id rather just buy one. Id rather have some old skulls or something. Even the begging items are well, just kinda lame. What am i supposed to do with a tiny guilutine and iron maiden? UO is supporting the torture of midgets i guess?

Best ones I feel were the first reaper/cursed artie one and the giant turkey one.

This one comes in second.

The new trick or treat special items are pretty neat. The ancient hellhound is decent, but the only item you ever get is the bloody sash. Bloody hell - hounds. (See? I am not cursing).

I do love the fact that I can do the oaks spawn without a massive hit to karma tho.

if u mean the names he's using those are book, tv, movie, and cereal box vampires. i'm guessing from the most frightening(best rated) to the least(lowest rated)

I am just disappointed they didn't do a Conjurer's item this year. There was no incentive for me to change from my standard routine. The AHH was a good battle, but with nothing for my suit, I chose not to do it more.

I did last years quest over and over and over on 3 different shards because the Conjurer's Robe was a decent incentive.

Personally it has been a lame Halloween for me. It has nothing to do with the events themselves, but rather my limited play time and lousy luck.

Usually when the Halloween event rolls around I'm out there on my GM beggar and able to snag myself at least one of each of the rares, but it seems that the RNG is plotting against me this year, I've yet to get a single one after over 4 hours of trick or treating.

Same goes with pumpkins. Haven't even seen a jack-o-lantern, let alone one with one of my names on it. Still looking for a pumpkin with my name on it. I know they're out there, others have found them.

As for the "boss" encounters. Honestly, combat with severely overpowered creatures don't hold much interest for me. But I've heard others have been enjoying it.

All in all, the events are pretty good. Last year was better imo, but then again I'd be happy with just jack-o-lanterns and trick-or-treating every year.

Last year was fantastic, The dungeon quest, the new deco items. Then with the fantastic Thanks Giving event following after - Matching it was a hard task this year.

They didn't even come close to last years fun, But I still appreciate the effort *Remembers the years of nothing!*

there was an event? now, let me finish. last year's event was incredible--but to be honest, i think it was 'too' much. i was actually worried there would be another event like that to stress me out. strangely enough, i hadn't been playing UO as much recently, but when i heard we could get pumpkins with our own names on them i returned to check it out. well, now i'm back and having a wonderful time on my shard collecting and finding pumpkins with my friends.

so the candy's the same, so i don't have a beggar, so i haven't even tried to fight the ancient hellhounds. i've had fun. so it's alright in my book. but i do expect next year to be as incredible as last year's was. ;)

RNG hates me also. since the halloween event started ive managed to make a full set of the items but.....thats about it. I gave said items to someone who gave me a crap ton of begging SoTs and alacrities last minute so i could finish begging. Now im working on a second set with no luck of course. 4 hour stretches of pure nothingness. Id go longer but thats all i can stand. As for the event theres no way i can get the rep to even start it. So guessed im going to miss out on that one.

My opinion this halloween was a downer.

Bane Quest: F-
The 'baddies' get a nice named item, but only if they grind meer for days on end. 7500 loyalty points is absurd with no real way of acquiring them in a reasonable amount of time.

Virtue Quest: F-
The 'goodies' get an item that is still clogging the servers from last time they were released, and these aren't even named. Yet another grind fest is required to acquire the items for this quest, the 'reward' is lame.

Grinding for hours is tedium at its worst. Tedium in a game is bad. The Devs need to learn this soon. I suggest they recieve their next 6 paychecks in pennies.

Trick or Treat: B-
Entertaining in random spurts... Recycled candy... lazy. New +begging items are cute, I especially like the chair. Would have been better if they removed previous year's content, or at least gave it a lower chance of spawning.

Pumpkins: A-
Nice to get player names again. Nice to get them with titles, too. Its fun to collect EM character names and those of your friends. JoL spawn needs a serious boost, however..

Ancient Hellhound: C+
This one is a mixed bag... Nice that the spawn of an uber mob is limited to the places the normal hounds actually spawn (or as far as you can lead them). This limits most opportunities to grief, unlike the yellow crystals and harbingers. However... The vendor selling the treats was ill-conceived, poorly executed, and smacks of laziness.

The ancient hounds themselves are okay, but have too many special attacks that go off way toooften. Throwing a bunch of specials on a creature doesn't make them "challenging" it makes them annoying. (For example, the Stygian Dragon has a decent amount of specials that seem fairly balanced - While the Slasher tends to endlessly spam the paralyze/meteor shower ability)

The base loot is okay, and the bloody sash is definitely fun.

A quest reminiscent of last year’s would have been preferable. We want the world to be immersive and lively, yet none of this stuff was introduced with any sort of fiction or decent in-game explanation.

The Bane Chosen still have no backstory and their existence is getting boring. WHY they are on Magincia needs to be stated. WHY they are the unstated baddie needs to be…well…stated. WHO they work for needs to be revealed posthaste… WE need a reason to give a damn about the things they do – right now we have ZERO incentive to fight them (nor have we had one since June/July). WHAT happened to Minax? She disappeared completely after the Ricardo event… QUEEN DAWN needs to stop sparring with guards and eating meatless mince pies and get off her ass and LEAD her people against the aggressive invasion of Magincia and the people she knows took her erstwhile husband.

Well-written fiction posts should be coming out weekly at this point if we are to believe the end of this will be satisfying and a decent introduction to New Magincia.

Martyna is spot on.
This Bane Event is just an event, right? It's not really a Halloween event. In fact, I still don't understand the Bane therefore I don't give a hoot, and I and others, have not participated.
1)Hellhound sounds ok, but I don't feel it's enough.

2)I assume we find pumpkins in fields, but WHY DON'T THEY ANNOUNCE THAT? Patch notes didn't state.. "check farm fields & pick pumpkins". (yes they should state this for the unaware). And I didn't know you can get ones with your name, so I never bothered to go get more pumpkins since I have some already from last time. (Thanks to this forum, now I know).

Last year's Halloween was great. Like legendsguy said, it was a bit "too much". But it did make us re-visit old dungeons. I still have my blue crystals which I'm still waiting to hear a use for!!! I still have yellow crystals which I should prob sell, LOL.

Next year, since I have many many masks, I wish they would do an event around you having to wear one to a costume party or some special dungeon crawl WITH masks on (no weapon event). Undead mask (skeleton, zombie, etc)=undead crawl. Repond mask (orc, troll) = repond crawl. Some variety like that.

Totally agree. I loved the grim reaper, and i loved the ancient liche one which also had a very well done quest line and end-of-quest peerless. Wasnt a fan of last years, becuase it was just too much of a mindless grind. I think i would really like the hell hound challenge this year, ive soloed a few, but the only reward is the bloody sash (which is selling for about 150k on Atlantic) So its alot easier just to buy one.

Wish there was a better reward this year, something not overpowered but at least somewhat useful.
